Was disappointed

I was very impressed with Wells Paving.  They were highly recommended by several other people I knew.  They showed up on time, communicated well, paved my driveway when they said they would and did an absolutely excellent job.  The asphalt paving was very thick and very nicely finished at all edges.  They were also very polite and professional to deal with.

I had someone at work highly recommend Wells Paving since they had done their driveway so I called them Wednesday morning & left a message with someone saying I wanted to get an estimate. They said that the owner would call me back when he got the chance. I spoke with Leslie later that day & she said they could come by that evening to give an estimate. Pete & Leslie came by & gave me an estimate of $6000 to do the entire driveway. The price seemed a little high but he was highly recommended & I hadn't got any other estimates so I didn't know for sure. The price could be fair. They said they had a cancellation the following morning & they could do it then if I wanted. I decided to go forward with the work & by Thursday afternoon I had a paved driveway. The driveway looks beautiful. They did an awesome job. My driveway looks thicker than others that I've noticed as I'm driving & they hand tamp the edges to give it a nice clean look. However, my neighbor (he used to be in the paving business) brought to my attention after the fact that there is some segregation in the asphalt that it might be an issue over time. That is more of a manufacturer of the asphalt issue as a lot of them use more & more recycled asphalt meaning the quality of the asphalt has gone down. The specs for driveways are a lot lower than for roads. This is stuff I had no idea about & wish I had asked prior to having my driveway paved. Like where do you get your asphalt & what percentage is recycled? I should've done more research & asked around before getting it paved. But for being 4 days old it looks awesome right now. Looking to get it sealed this fall.

Updating this review to lower to an overall F after I discovered some hidden flaws in the work they performed.  When the quote was given it included removing and disposing of gravel.  on the day of the installation he asked if I could use the fill dirt and he'd pile it up to the side. I said I would.  When I started to move the fill dirt I discovered that he hid the gravel underneath the dirt instead of removing it.  My only alternative was to move the gravel laden dirt to behind my shed.  When I started to fix the area near the driveway that they left ungraded I discovered the reason for that was that they hid additional gravel under that dirt and couldn't grade it or the gravel would be exposed.  Would never recommend or work with these individuals again.

Good experience. He came out to get an estimate one day. The following day he came buy with the contract. The price had gone up 300 but my husband decided to go ahead (it was explained that the cost of materials had gone up).
The following Monday we had a driveway -it's a long driveway and it looks great.

They came when they said they would. They were responsive and did a good job. I didn't get a lot of other estimates but it was according to other people a reasonable price.
