We would highly recommend Pro-Deck lnstallers. We replaced a 20 year old pressure treated second story deck with Trex decking and powder coated aluminum railings we also replaced an existing stone patio below with square cut flagstone and rebuilt a brick knee wall. We interviewed and received estimates from 4 different contractors. All of the estimates were in the same approximate price range. Gerry at Pro-Deck was not the cheapest nor was he the highest, but we were impressed with his detail and description of the work to be done. This is a bit technical but Gerry insisted on joists that were 12 inches on center, where other contractors specified 16 inches on center. Gerry specified 4 stringers on the steps, others were only using 3. (Gerry actually gave us 5) Gerry specified a new ledger board; others were willing to use the existing ledger board. And all of these upgrades were included for the same approximate cost as the other contractors quoted. We were also very happy with the execution of the work. Jose, the lead carpenter, was a perfectionist. His attention to detail was well beyond our expectations. The deck and railings turned out beautifully. (Concurrently, we were having some additional work done inside our house by a different contractor. The other workers were also very impressed with how our deck turned out and highly complimented the quality of the workmanship.) Santiago, the lead mason on the stone work, also was a craftsman who took a great deal of pride in his work. He actually redid a half days work because he was not happy with a color match on the grout. And this was before we, (my wife and l) or Gerry even saw it. He just wanted it right. Gerry and all of his people were extremely professional and accommodating. They were extremely open to our ideas/requests and did everything possible to make sure we were happy with the job. We would, without hesitation, highly recommend Gerry and Pro-Dec lnstallers. (Note; ask Gerry about Westbury railings)

We got four quotes to replace our very large deck. We chose Pro Deck Installers because their price was very competitive, they were very knowledgeable and helpful to us in discussing the various choices regarding this project, and they had excellent Angieslist reviews. We are very happy with the work. We were involved in a neighbor's deck collapse so we were particularly sensitive to having our deck built right. Pro Deck Installers did exactly that. We had a free standing deck installed with posts and beams on both the front and back. Gerry and his crew are very skilled and careful craftsmen.. We were impressed by their careful use of such tools snap lines, levels and T-squares. They do their work the right way. We were particularly impressed with the care they took to make sure this deck was absolutely solid. For example at every joint they don't just hammer in a few nails, they screw in metal plates! Wow! They seemed to go far beyond code to assure that we got the best deck possible. Thank you, Gerry. We heartily recommend Pro Deck Installers.

Great job from start to finish. A few minor things had to be corrected (as such in most large projects) but Gerry and his crew went well beyond just correcting the issues. I recommend him unreservedly.

I contacted Gerry for an estimate in February and we signed the contract beginning of March. We had them tear down an existing deck (about 20x24) with steps and build a new 20x20 deck with steps. My husband and I did some of the demo ourselves to save a few bucks. I couldn't be happier with the work that Gerry and his team did. We ran into 1 major problem with they removed our existing ledge board and the boards behind it (my house) were rotted. His team fixed that and then continued with the build. The deck is about 5 feet off the ground and we went with composite boards, composite rails and metal balusters with lights on the risers. The only thing that's wood is the support structure. We went ahead and even had them install about 2 inches of gravel below the deck to help with water runoff. The team arrived at my house daily around 7:30 and worked until often 6 or 6:30 at night. It took 7 days because of the problem we ran into (estimated for 5) however that was no fault of theirs. Gerry took care of everything from the drawings to the permits and stopped at the house several times to see how it was coming along. He ended up coming to the house a few times before just during the estimate phase since we went from all wood to partial composite and then to choose colors. He had to come back once because the gate wasn't level however he corrected that himself. Next time we need another deck I will call him although the one his team built is incredibly strong so I don't see it going anywhere for years to come. We had gotten 3 other estimates before deciding to go with Gerry, he wasn't the cheapest but was on the lower end compared to the other estimates we got.

It went very well from start to finish. Work was done professionally and efficiently in more than a timely manner. His team worked very hard and Gerry was great with keeping me updated as the project progressed. I will definitely recommend Pro Deck Installers to anyone in need of a deck project.

This is our second deck that we have had built by Gerry and his team.  The job went great, Israel and his team did a great job from start till finish and the workmanship shows.  It is so great to have a nice deck that we can now enjoy.  I would totally recommend Gerry and his team from Pro Deck Installers to anyone.

Pro Deck Installers did an excellent job. The job began on time and was fully staffed until it was completed. The workmanship and materials were excellent. The owner, Gerry, was very helpful and responsive to any questions.

We are very happy with our deck. Excellent customer service--Gerry and his crew went above and beyond 18 months after deck completion when we had some moisture issues.  The issues were not caused by the deck, but Pro Deck came out and did a thorough investigation to make sure deck was not contributing.

Gerry (Pro-Deck) responded at once and sent two people over the next day who removed the entire spot - porch now looks awesome!! This is the mark of a true A on Angie's list - very quick to respond, professional and a perfectionist in 'exceeding' customer's expectations.

Everything about this project went extremely well.  Not only are we thrilled with our new deck, but it was a pleasure working with Gerry (owner) and his crew led by Israel from beginning to end.  The project was started even earlier than we'd hoped; it was completed in exactly the eight days estimated (good weather on most days helped).  The crew was meticulous in measuring and aligning boards before securing them more permanently.  When materials were delivered, they "rejected" some boards that they did not think were desirable, even though it delayed completion of a given phase till replacement materials could be delivered the next day.  There was one change I requested to the railing next to the two steps.  They were creative and professional in re-doing this item to accommodate my preference even though it required a couple extra hours.  They sincerely wanted us to be happy with their work. 

We chose Pro Deck primarily based on many positive reviews on Angie's List, but it was also comforting that their bid was similar (even somewhat lower) than the two other bids we received.  I am so grateful to Pro Deck for their excellent workmanship and professionalism that has provided us with such a high quality, beautiful deck. 

I solicited bids for a new deck from six contractors who were all highly rated on Angie's List. Pro-Deck Installers gave me the best price and could start the work quickly.  This is  a small company and the owner, Gerry Cavazos came out for the estimate. He immediately provided a number of very good suggestions to improve upon my own ideas for the deck. In particular, he came up with a very good idea for how to add a set of stairs from the deck down to the yard in a way that maximized the usable amount of deck space compared to all the other contractor's proposals.
Gerry kept closely involved throughout the entire project.  He took care of a number of changes we requested during the project for no or very reasonable additional costs. 
We were very pleased with the work of his construction crew.  The workmanship of the deck is excellent. That is all the more impressive since the work was done during February and early March, a period with snowstorms every week and periods of bitterly cold weather.  The weather did shut down the work several times, but Israel and his crew worked through some very cold days without affecting the quality of their work. They worked efficiently, accurately and left a neat work site when they were done.
My wife and I could not be more pleased with the work of Pro-Deck Installers and highly recommend them !

It was clearly an outstanding experience from A to Z. Gerry coordinated the effort and kept me very informed of any changes along the way. Communication was clear with a contract up front.Antonio and his crew were excellent - I can't say enough. They were perfectionists, the walkway is beautiful, well constructed and they were very neat as they progressed.All work was excellent, very professional and I would recommend pro Deck to anyone needing a walkway.

Shortly after purchasing our new home in April 2012, my wife and I decided to invest in building a deck. Without the knowledge we have today (or the Angie's list subscription) - we ended up hiring a contract from Craigslist, and the deck was built. At first, everything seemed OK. As the days went on (following completion), we kept on noticing more "shortcuts". Some were small, but others a little more worrisome (deck had quite a bit of lateral movement). After a couple weeks, the contractor returned and we went over our concerns. He promised to send over a team to sort them in a couple of days. To make a long story short, that was the last we ever heard of him. We soon discovered other "discrepancies". In particular, that the contractor had not been truthful with regards to the filing of permits. Thus, we found ourselves with a deck that was not permitted, and from our own laymen's perspective seemed like it was built in a rather shoddy fashion. 
We than began what became a very frustrating search for another contractor with the goal of finding someone that could help get us out of the hole we found ourselves in. I say frustrating because the large majority of contractors we spoke to either a) didn't want to get involved, based of the history, or b) offered quick fixes, with no permit guarantees. When we were getting very close to tearing the deck down ourselves (joking) - we finally found Pro Deck Installers. 
Gerry was helpful, responsive, and really seemed interested in helping us out. What really struck me was that Gerry wanted to do it the right way. Despite the amount of hassle and paperwork, he insisted on he taking responsibility of the deck and ensuring that it got permitted. Gerry also spent extra time making sure that my wife and I were comfortable with the commitment (as we both we're still quite hesitant from the previous experience.)
Gerry's team echoed advice that we had heard before that the deck needed to be re-built (i.e. complete reconstruction of the deck frame). After talking it over , my wife and I agreed to move forward. 
Gerry's team (led by Antonio) were spectacular. Watching them take apart the deck and construct the new one was actually quite interesting. They didn't take any shortcuts and used the highest quality materials and building standards.  In the end they built a deck that is shoulders and above the one that they tore down. Gerry also ensured that we were kept abreast of the permitting process throughout the entire construction period . His team was equally responsive when the inspector insisted on a change. Gerry and his team came over the next day to take care of it - at no additional charge. 
In summary , I have nothing but positive things to say about Pro Deck Installers and they work that Gerry, Antonio and the team do. I would highly recommend them for any deck work you are looking to do. We plan on working with Pro Deck Installers in the future for some other related jobs.

Pro Deck did a great job on rebuilding our front porch and rear deck using hardwood (ipe) decking and composite railings; they explained our options, were flexible to accommodate our needs, and then performed the work on time and in accordance with the estimate they provided. In addition, the owner (Gerry) and crew (led by Antonio) are professional, courteous and skilled. I'd highly recommend them for similar work.

I called several companies and had them come out for estimates.  Gerry from Pro Deck came out and gave me an estimate and sketch for the work.  
We decided to go with Pro Deck because I felt that their estimate was reasonable and the quality of product I would receive would be the best.  We are so pleased that we worked with Gerry and his crew for this project.  From start to finish it has been very smooth.  When Gerry went to pull the permit we found that the previous owner had not filed a permit for the deck that was there.  Gerry instructed me that I would need a new survey and I did need to do that.  I ordered the survey, it was completed and the work began 4 days later. 
All through the project (3 days) everything was completed in a timely fashion - ahead of the predicted schedule.  The crew was neat and efficient in their work - they even helped us remove some items from our old deck because they were able to start earlier than we expected and had not removed everything.  I think that is service above and beyond and we appreciated it.  
 We love our new deck and would highly recommend Pro Deck Installers for any deck projects.

Gerry and his team did an excellent job. We got several bids and reviewed Angie's list before deciding Pro Deck Installers. Gerry provided a good bid and he displayed a genuine interest in our project. We ultimately felt Gerry would stand by his work and ensure things went well and the project did go very well. He worked side by side with his team on all aspects of the project from excavating dirt for the concrete slab to reviewing the final touches on the project. A couple times during the project, we had to call an "audible" (everything from an inspector requiring us to add a full length continuous rail to our deck stairs railing to Gerry agreeing to excavate another six inches of dirt for the concrete slab). We discussed the situation and came to a reasonable solution. Gerry's staff worked the project from start to finish and they were excellent craftsmen and very nice and polite.
I highly recommend Gerry and his team. When doing projects like these, I think it's important to remember that you have to be flexible in your plans and realize what looks nice on paper may require some adjustments once construction begins. For example, excavating dirt for a concrete slab is much harder then it sounds. Six inches of packed clay in a 11 x 14 foot space translates into a very big dirt pile approx 10' L x 10' W x 3'H - dirt really expands when you dig it up. This also means you need to prepare for adjusting your budget once you realize how much extra work this is. Gerry also looked at our plans and gave us recommendations (having the deck stairs go the opposite way from our original plan) based on his expertise - all of which worked out. Finally, he stands by his work. We have the underdecking system under the deck and although his team tested it for leaks during construction, a couple leak areas popped up once real weather (like continuous hard rain) starting hitting the deck. Gerry's team came in and made the right adjustments to resolve the issues.
