Alter Construction

It was was very frustrating and challenging.  Each day I had to look at the work and I realized that cabinets were not level.  I felt like I was having to manage them.  The handles were not put on correctly.  Some of the cabinets were installed wrong.  I wanted the opening on the right and some were on the left.  The crown molding was not professional installed.  There is a space between the dishwasher and cabinet, which I had to argue with him to fix it.  When I told him something was wrong, he always blamed it on other people.  The built in appliance cabinet is ruined because he had to take it apart so many times that he had to keep patching it so it wouldn't look as bad.  He refused to fix what he did wrong and I had to pay him more money for him to fix it to finish the job.  I offered him $200 to finish the job and he said ok.  When he was done, 4 to 5 days later, I gave him the money and he said well we talked about $300 which was never mentioned before he said that to me.  When he was unpacking the refrigerator from the box, he scratched the refrigerator with his knife.  There was cardboard under the refrigerator and he moved the refrigerator on my new wood floor, which created a many deep scratches in the flooring.  In the contract, it stated that the garbage disposal was included in the price; however, he said this was a mistake in the contract and he refused to installed it until i payed extra.  When he started to install the granite back splash, he said it was not included and it is in the contract.  He wanted extra money before he could install the full back splash.  There were extra materials left over and he took them without telling me even though I had payed for them.  After I asked him at the end of the job, he did bring some back but only because I asked him to.  The locks that were in the contract, he did not install them even though it was in the contract.  I was not compensated for these either.
