The task went better than expected with Elaine's help. I wasn't expecting a "dive right in and get it done" approach. That was what I received and again...all finished in one afternoon! I did not do a cost comparison or request for quotes as Elaine was recommended. Therefore, I'm not certain if the price was sufficient in comparison. However, the experience was wonderful, productive, personal and professional. The task was "done" and I loved working with her to get it done. I would hire again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic!!! Elaine works very quickly as long as you make quick decisions. Very productive. Helps you get things in their proper places, Make decisions, organizes very quickly, and helps you understand how to do it on your own. She makes complete sense and helps you understand what she has done and how to keep it up.

It went great. Elaine is wonderful and so informative. I've learned so much from her about organizing and the different resources I can use to keep my files and different items more organized. She has really transformed my office. It is clear she loves what she does and is extremely good at it. I used to dislike coming in my office and would find other places to work. Now I love coming in my office. It's productivity friendly and I get so much more done now. And I have so much space. Everything is organized in such an efficient manner to where I can easily access it. It's amazing how she used organizers I already had so I didn't have to buy anything extra. Her prices are very affordable and worth every penny. Thanks Elaine! You are a lifesaver! And an office saver ?!

The voucher number ANGE-783790314597. The address the service was attempted 16312 Happy Hill Road, South Chesterfield, VA 23834. So, I purchased a deal with an organizer at Straightening Spaces. The organizer failed to fulfill her obligation to organize the home office space. It started when my mother (who's elderly lady) contacted the organizer and asked if she could have an initial visit before scheduling the appointment. The organizer said no. So, my mother went ahead and scheduled a date for her to come and organize. Once the organizer arrived, my mother gave her instructions on what she wanted done...which was to organize a home office. The organizer started moving stuff around, but decided to take an hour out of the four hours schedule to put together a wooden organizer. My mother never requested the organizer to put together the item. When my mother repeatedly asked her to stop and continue organizing the office, the organizer didn't listen to her. At the end of the four hours scheduled time, there was a pile of stuff in the middle of the home office floor that wasn't organized. My mother expressed to the organizer how she was not satisfied with her work. The organizer said she was sorry, but she could contact Angie's List for a refund. So I contacted you on 22 Jul 17 for your assistance on this matter. Thanks in advance for your help!

"I'm sorry that your mother was unhappy with my organizing service. When working on an office paper is always the biggest issue. I work carefully with my client to be sure that nothing important is lost. If I were to work independently I could potentially get rid of something crucial to my client. I, and many other organizers do not come and do a physical assessment, most people want a virtual assessment through emailed pictures. I did tell your mother, up front on the phone, that the amount of organizing we get done is related to the speed at which we work. She was upset that your father had not put the organizing furniture together, so I gave her a pile of papers to sort while I assembled it. It should not have taken more that a half hour to do the assembly, but the room was so full of boxes of papers and other things that there was almost no room to work. When she asked me to stop, I disassembled what I had done and put it all back into the box as best as I could. The scope of the job your mother wanted done really required 12-16 hours of work. Would it have been different if I had come and done a physical assessment? I don't know, the expectations she had were not realistic for the amount of organizing the room needed."

Found a home for all needed items plus more. Very neat, organized, comfortable with things in needed locations in an orderly manner. When on the road for 8 weeks, everything worked well and was well placed in the points as needed. Worked great! Very pleased!

Elaine arrived early so we could start precisely on time. She was personable, a good listener and offered very good insights as to how to better manage the space I have in my house. She was just as adept at seeing immediate solutions for my storage challenges as she was helping me brainstorm about the "big picture" for my future remodeling plans. I’m a fairly organized individual but because of so many personal commitments, my kitchen turned into a wreck. My pantry and cabinets were victims of “jam it anywhere to get it out of the way”. There was no thought or organization to it and I realized I needed an intervention. Elaine showed up on her white horse and helped me think through exactly how I work in my kitchen. Add into this equation my 87 year old mom who lives with us and goes food shopping twice a week, bringing home things we don’t need. Elaine walked me through the best way to set up a logical flow that will work with everyone. She gave me a blueprint to use for not only the areas we worked on together but going forward with the rest of the storage areas. She even had some great ideas to channel my mother’s food shopping into more constructive activities. Elaine is not only extremely professional but personable. She gets to know you and how you work in your home so she can develop an individual plan for you. The time we spent together was invaluable and I will use that for the rest of my home. It was a great experience and I will certainly have her back for valuable assistance and advice.

I am a very organized person, but my home office was so out of control that I finally consulted a professional organizer. After a call and trading emails, I set up an appointment for her to come over for 4 hours to dive in. I was skeptical, since I already had tossed out as much as I thought I could, and really thought that if I had the right furniture or shelves or drawers, it would solve the problem. Elaine came over and after getting to know about my needs, helped me pull everything out, rearrange the furniture I already had (which was just about adequate), and help me set up the office to not only look good (which I was doing on my own practically once a month), but helped me set up a system that allowed me to work efficiently and in a way that won't require me to keep re-organizing every few weeks. She provided creative solutions to make my space more functional and more attractive, including taking the top off of a bulky workstation, leaving me with a nice corner desk facing my bucolic back yard. I love it! I'm still settling in and tweaking things here. Then I'll have her back to tackle other problem areas of the house!

Elaine did a wonderful job! She was prompt and then jumped right in to start establishing a plan and setting the system in place. Her recommendations for rearranging furniture, etc... feels as if she found square footage we didn't know we had and made the area feel larger! Her organizational recommendations brought it all together with an easy to follow, logical system.

She assisted with first organizing the furniture, then we went through the papers, files and other stuff. She had all the resources needed for the job, which I was impressed. She was not intimated, but allowed me to make the right decisions for me regarding what I was trying to achieve. At the conclusion of her four hours; my home office was realized, it is very functional, I was provided a list of additional items to purchased (less than $60), she also helped me to organized my iPhone and gave me several free Apps to used, she provided several tips for other problem areas in my home. I have purchased the item the items on my list and implemented them. Ms. Elaine was very professional and knowledgeable. Attached are photos of Before, During and After.

I felt that things went well, and under the circumstances about as painless as could be. All choices as to what to keep and what to discard were ultimately mine to make. Elaine made good use of the time. She also started re-organizing my storage and retention as we went on. She worked with good humor and great patience. For the first time in a long time, I now have clearer access to a closet and can actually see space and organization emerging from the mess.

I’ve been using for 8 months. I’m very pleased. Besides organizing, she gives great tips. She’s very easy to work with. She’s definitely worth the money. There’s always a huge improvement each time. She even takes before and after pictures so you can the difference. She also makes the whole experience very fun. She makes it easier to part with clutter. She’s even helped me learn how to use my iPhone (organizing my apps on my phone) I use her once a week for 4 hours each time. (She has a 4 hour minimum) She can definitely get a lot done in 4 hours though! I feel very comfortable around her, and thoroughly enjoy the help she has brought me.
