It is hard to express in words just how wonderful this company is. They are responsible, professional, punctual, reliable, friendly and perfectionists. The work they do is of the highest possible quality, and their prices are fair.

George and his crew did a fantastic job. He was very responsive re: communicating and he was able to do the job as scheduled. The work quality was great and his price was very reasonable. He found that he had to make an additional repair, which he had told me might be the case, and his price for that was extremely reasonable. I will definitely hire them again.

Excellent job. Crew was skilled and efficient. Still looks great one year later. George gave detailed estimate with references and certificate of liability insurance. Professional job. Estimate was not the cheapest estimate I got, or the most expensive. I was impressed with Mr. Hughes and was glad we used his company. Would use him again.

The entire paint job was extremely professional.
George Hughes visited our house twice to be sure of all the details before giving an estimate.  His estimate was detailed and accompanied by recommendations and his contractors' license information. 
The entire team was excellent.  All reported punctually as promised, seemed to work well together with each one knowing what his assignments were. 
Each day George doublechecked the work, at one point having a wall repainted to correct the finish applied.  He remedied several things that were beyond the scope of this job, preexisting conditions like a hall door that wouldn't close properly, some paint from a previous job that had flecked on the floor and molding.  He was very particular about his team's work and wanted it to be of the highest quality.
The work was finished as soon as promised and was excellent.  We did not have to have any call-backs.
It was a pleasure to have workers who cleaned up carefully at the end of each day and at the completion of the entire job.
All in all, we were extremely pleased and would give this group the highest recommendation.

They were on time, very professional, very neat and did an excellent job. We have also used them within the last year to paint some other trim on the first floor of our house as well as to paint the exterior of our house. Their prep work is outstanding. I wouldn't use anyone else.

Unusual request - I'm SLOWLY restoring my long-neglected family home in an historic district
The city was coming to evaluate the house for a tax abatement program and I realized the interior had not been painted in at least ten years, however I do not plan to live in the house for several years, so not decorating, etc. So...
I asked  quotes to prime 4 rooms and an upstairts hallway - no woodwork.
The owner, George Hughes had been recommended by an aquaintance - Mr. Hughes is not a particularly personable person, but it was a fair estimate, and they did what they said they would do and cleaned up nicely.

We were a bit surprised at the high price, but it was totally worth it.  Their prep work is what makes the real difference.  This company is fantastic.  The job was so well done that I feel compelled to tell as many people as possible.  The employees were professional, talented and very respectful.  We have a tough house to paint and they did not cut any corners.  They even did some repair work on the front column, porch and back doorway.  If you want a quality job done...hire this company.

I had been dreading the thought of having to paint ALL of our exterior trim (it had been 10 years).  Yes, me and my husband COULD do it, but I would much rather have had professionals up on those ladders!  I am so glad I found Mr Hughes and his team.  Within 2 days they completed all the work and done all the clean up.  Mr Hughes even came back and did some touch ups upon my request.  He wanted to make sure I was satisfied and I certainly was.  Thank you Mr Hughes!!!

Mr Hughes paid attention to detail from the very start.  He used binocculars to better estimate the repairs that I would need done on the house.  He kept me informed about start times and any unforseen repairs as the job progressed.  His foreman and crew where hardworking, courteous and kept the job site very neat and tidy.  Mr. Hughes was on the job every day overseeing the work being done.  He was also very accomodating when I had another contractor replace some windows while his crew was working.  I feel confident that the job was done well from start to finish!

Overall I am very satisfied with Mr. Hughes' company and the workers.

I  obtained several estimates, all Angie's List professionals with excellent reputations. (I got burned pretty bad on my last paint job and learned the hard way.)
I was impressed from the moment I met Mr. Hughes.  He arrived on time and was professional, courteous and knowledgable. He did not rush me as I took him around my house pointing out numerous concerns. I  asked many questions and he patiently answered them all including concerns I had about the crew.  I wanted to know about what kind of people would be in and around my house.  I was very pleased to learn that he cares about his employees and demands excellence from them.
Everyone from the power washers to the painting crew were just wonderful to work with.  I did not have a moment's worry about having them in and around my home.  All of them arrived promptly each morning, ready to work.  Mr. Hughes was on site each morning and made regular rounds with the foreman, Mayo, pointing out what needed to be done and inspecting the work that had been done.  I knew what to expect every day and was kept well informed of their progress by both Mr. Hughes and Mayo, the foreman.
As for the crew, all I can say is they worked beautifully together.  Everyone was polite and professional and took directions well.  There was never any coarse language, loud music or goofing off.  I was most impressed with this crew. They spent days scraping, sanding, deglossing, replacing siding and caulking.  Every evening they cleaned up and stacked ladders neatly out of our way. They painted, in tandem, three at a time, keeping the paint wet on wet.  All of the horrible old paint job is completely covered and both my husband and I are very pleased with the end result.  When the time comes, we will be calling George Hughes Painting LLC again, without a doubt.

We had tried to stain our own deck a couple of years ago and really made a mess of it appartently because it was peeling off and blotchy the very next year.  We knew it was a good idea to hire a professional for the job.  We chose George Hughes from Angie's list and called him for an estimate.  He was very professional throughout the entire time.  He showed up when he said he would, or if not, he would communicate the reasons why. (weather, etc). All in all, he did a superior job on this deck, which by the why is huge.  The finish has never looked as good as it does now.  Its just a beautiful job.

Over the 25 years we have owned this house, this is the first time my house was painted correctly!  All of the carpentry work that needed to be accomplished before the painting began was done, and done well.  The prep work that was conducted before the actual painting was unbelievable.  This house has never been as well prepared before painting as when George's crew did it.  I have three metal doors on the outside, and even they were prepped!  The painting of the windows and trim was done in a very detailed manner.  The siding was brushed and looks beautiful.  They also painted my deck, putting two coats of brown on the floor and steps, and two coats of the siding color on the pickets and rail.  George's crew was always on time, and very courteous and professional.  I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to have a quality paint job done on their house.

George contacted us right away, provided written estimate & set start date.  He & crew completed the work in a very professional manner with an eye for detail & going the extra step.  He even repainted by mailbox post so it would match exactly with the new trim paint.   Very good & fair to work with.   He cares about doing the job right.  We can highly recommend him.

We had a great experience.  We liked them very much.  They were very polite.  There is a young gentleman who works for him and have nothing bad to say about him.  They were great.

We got them off Angie’s list.  They did an excellent job.  The quality of their job was good and so was their communication.  The staff they brought to the site was well prepared and efficient at what they did.  They left the jobsite clean afterwards.  We had no complaints with them and we will recommend them to others.

at the prep work and perfectionism from this group are worth more than the average painter. Every surface and even edging at ceilings look like new walls. I cannot recommend this company more highly.

They had our exterior cleaned a week before they painted. When they came they began by repairing some rot- and insect-damaged wood. They removed screens and an awning so they would not get paint on them. They sanded and primed some areas where the old paint had been peeling. Then they did an outstanding job of painting our house and gazebo. The gazebo, in particular, was rather challenging, but they did not complain.

It was a pleasure working with George and his crew.
