I had one skylight cracked in a storm and a second skylight leaking. I hired this contractor to replace these two skylights and repair some water damage.
The replaced skylights leaked badly. The roofer was utterly incompetent and unprofessional. He came back three or four times to try to repair the skylights but they continued to leak, creating new water damage. The contractor brought in a second roofer who said the skylights needed to be built up on a curb above the roof. The second roofer did this work and was more competent, but he showed up unscheduled on multiple occasions--probably the contractor's fault for failing to communicate with me.
One weekend afternoon I came home from a run to discover a hole in my bedroom ceiling (the skylight had been removed) with debris all over my bed, and the sound of footsteps and voices overhead. No one had gotten my permission or approval to do this work. I was FURIOUS and got the contractor on the phone. He was apologetic, but then the very same thing happened AGAIN. I came home another day to discover a hole in my roof and a new curb built up on THE WRONG SKYLIGHT--a third skylight that had never leaked and had never been replaced had now been lifted up off the roof without my permission during an unscheduled visit from the roofer.
After the second roofer finished his work, the skylights seemed to be free of leaks, but water damage remains from the period of time that the replaced skylights were leaking after the initial repair of the ceiling. Also, the plywood curbs that were added to three of my skylights (including the skylight the roofer accidentally removed) are ugly and need to be covered with drywall and painted.
I did not pay this contractor the total amount owed, but I still feel very ripped off. I started with water damage and ended with water damage and plywood curbs. DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR. Terrible communication, incompetent and rude roofer, demolition guys who don't clean up after themselves, and I never felt like these guys had any real interest in making it right.
We like them so much, we're going to have them replace a subfloor and install vinyl floor coverings. I just placed a call to them and they still have that professional upbeat attitude I remember.
