We thought everything was good with our house. Brought out Mike from The Brickkicker and he seemed like he had all the right knowledge. Then come to the after purchase of the house we found this service to be garbage. Within one week of purchasing we started finding out things wrong that were stupid obvious for a "Well Trained" inspector. The inspector report seemed thorough but actual with my eyes said different. First of all I've dealt with other inspectors before and didn't think I would have to question the reputation of a well known company. There were various issues through the house and even a huge crack going up the masonry between the brick on the back side of the house. That's what happens when you don't spot check the inspector or why hire one at all if you feel like you could have done a better inspection. What makes me mad, is the fact that I bought a service and brought these people out not once, but twice for a follow up inspection. I will go back to my old home inspector and not use another recommendation. List of Items with issues (Even some listed in report and supposedly rechecked for correction) -Light Fixtures -Electrical outlets -Electrical switch's -Foundation drooping -Mortar cracks -Attic fan inoperable -Missing fascia pieces -Lifted shingles -Rodent issues in attic -Gutter issues -Counter top issues -Garage door issues -Duct work issues

"Mr. [Member Name Removed], We sincerely regret that your experience has left you with such a negative impression of our company. At Brickkicker, our goal is to provide thorough property inspections to assist you in your homebuying process. Our procedures are developed in keeping with the highest standards and best practices of our industry and our well-trained inspectors have a reputation for applying them thoroughly and accurately. We are confident that your case was no exception and that your report contains a fair representation of any defects that were visible through the use of our methods at the time of your inspection. However, as a part of that process, each customer is also advised as to the unique limitations that apply to their inspection as well as home inspections in general. For example, our inspection process is not aimed at discovering cosmetic issues nor is it capable of detecting issues in concealed areas. In the event that there are issues we advise each and every customer in our written contract to reach out to us so we can offer an explanation and determine whether something was inappropriately overlooked. Since this is the first we are hearing of your complaints, we regret that you did not choose to take advantage of this policy so that we could have a chance to explain and address your concerns. If you remain dissatisfied, we would appreciate an opportunity to make it right. Please reach out to our office at your earliest convenience and we will take care of you as outlined in the contract that you signed! Using Angies list who does not verify any truths or even the validity of your statements without touching base with us as you have stated you would by signing a legal and binding contract reflects poorly on Angies list for enabling untruths to be listed as accurate and credible information for anyone to see with only the association of being aligned to Angies list being the only requirement that they actually verify. We would appreciate if you would remove this review engage us as your contract that you signed, which will allow us proceed forward. Respectfully, The Brickkicker Team"

Mike and team were amazing. They were very thorough in the home inspection. They were knowlegeable in what they do, answered all of my questions. Additionally, they went over safety tips and provided information on maintaining my new construction home. The end report was provided immediately and included images that were taken during the inspection. I would definitely recommend this home inspector to others!!! I now feel comfortable about my purchase!

It was a horrible experience. He was very rude, he refused to go over any of his findings with me, and he didn't do a thorough inspection because he neglected to inspect nearly 600 square feet of the house. Furthermore, he did such a bad job that my realtor reimbursed me the money that I paid for the inspection.

"This is very simple The Brickkicker hasn't performed an inspection for this person or this property. Angies List again doesn't even verify the simplest of ac-curacies to even see if the company that someone is leaving a comment on is actually credible. Shame on you Angies List, Please remove this comment from your reviews."

This company is too much about fluff and not about details. Fancy binder and enough stuff found to not break the Realtor's deal. It was ridiculous. What did they miss: two bad hot water heaters, circular pump that was broken, 3 running toilets, 3 leaking faucets, rear door, garage side door and mud room doors door jams and rubber strip prohibits from shutting all of the way, A/C escapes.
$6,000+ to repair, thanks BrickKickers! Buyer beware!

"I not only respectfully disagree with you [member name removed] as to items discovered at time of inspection and what may have been found after. This typically comes down to one painful and straight forward truth that either you did no fully understand your Home Inspection report and or failed to actually perform your final walk-thru. Had these items been simply checked and were not working at time of home inspection you would have noted at final walk-thru I mean common Ok we have Hot water check Ok we have AC check. Since we didn't receive not one phone call from you or your realtor, I have to consider what is fluff here as to what you have actually claimed VS what may have actually happened. Having actually read your report again I highly doubt we would not be in court for two water heaters that we verified were operational at time of inspection and that you also signed off on at your homes final walk-thru. It also seems odd that we tested satisfactory a AC coil at time of inspection and you also signed off on the same AC coil on again your final walk-thru as also satisfactory. I can appreciate if you did not do a final walk-thru and have decided to vent your frustrations out and speak your mind and say untruths, but unfortunately this also represents another uncomfortable truth as it appears that you didn't get a Home Warranty as well. Our number has not changed in the time that you have been in your home and I would have loved to have had you call me if you had any questions VS not understanding your Home Inspection report, preforming your final walk-thru and potentially not being protected with a simple Home warranty for equipment in your home that no home inspector on the planet can predict when will go bad. The Home inspection was for the day it was performed, it doesn't go forward in that the condition of things can change in the next 5 minutes and that's what I understand, what your contract and your inspection report states. Do not hesitate to call me directly if you have any further questions. But I respectfully request that you not write untruths as factual when you and I both know they are not! Respectfully the Brickkicker"

Mark and his colleague were extremely thorough. The home is a foreclosure and has been empty for some time. Mark and his colleague pointed out dozens of things that should be addressed, some major, some minor, but they left no stone unturned. I received a lengthy, detailed report via email, complete with photos, by the end of the day. They arrived early and stayed until I couldn't come up with any further questions. I can remember buying my first home 15 years ago and paying a home inspector a comparable fee (actually more since it was in 1999 dollars) and all he did was hang out in my future garage for a couple hours checking out the fuse box. The Brick Kickers were on the roof, under the house and in every nook and cranny checking out every system. Terrific all around.

It went really well. He was very thorough. The only thing that was unexpected I guess would be that he seemed a little late due to traffic. The inspection itself went well. They were very professional and very polite. They got the job done really quickly. They knew exactly what they were doing.

Response from The BrickKicker Home Inspections
"Member I am very disappointed that Nov-25th(found a rating on Angie’s list) after I performed a Home Inspection for you back on Oct-01-2012(reported Sept-27) for 250$(reported 175$) that you were not overall content with your Home Inspection. It also appears to me that since you did not proceed forward in the purchase of this property, that I feel not only did I perform my job to the highest standards but, my findings allowed you guys to make a more informed decision as to the true general condition of the property. I arrived 30 minutes prior to you guys and realtor arriving (punctuality?) and performed the home inspection. It is my understanding that you guys didn’t proceed forward in the purchase of this home due to the findings, which is very normal after having a home inspection and finding out that maybe original expectations were different after inspection report. I do apologize that maybe you are upset as to being out the money for the Home Inspection but think of this, how much more money would you have been out if you didn’t have that Home Inspection? Member I totally appreciated and encouraged your participation in the Home Inspection as I hope all my fellow Brother(s) and Sister(s) (Home Inspectors) do but, the items that you pointed out were already a part of my basic Home inspection/findings and or had been photographed to add comments or pictures to the Home Inspection report prior to sending. Again I totally supported your involvement in your home inspection but I respectfully submit that If I didn’t have those comments in my report I would not be in the Home Inspection business very long, I would already have been ran out of town. Please feel free to call me at 757-285-5788 to discuss anything now or in the future and I wish you and yours a Happy Holiday Season and a Joyful and Prosperous New Year."

They were punctual and easy to communicate with. They educated us and kept us abreast to what was going on. They provided great referrals and made sure we are ready to proceed when the test results return in 3 days. The report itself is very detailed and will highlight the exact cause. I was really impressed. They were relaxed and did a great job. It was just an awesome experience.

He was really good and very thorough. He had a nice camera and took pictures of everything that he thought had to be taken. He gave a really nice report which had every switch and outlet he had tested in the house. He check on all the plumbing as well. He took the time to explain everything that concerned him with details of why and what it would take to fix it. He would let me know if I should call somebody or do it myself. My overall experience with him has been excellent.
