Sears Outlet - Norfolk and Chesapeake. I had an interaction with them a couple weeks ago. Norfolk was bad. I needed it delivery the following day and without looking at the schedule she said no. They won't be there for a couple of days. Because of that I had to drive all the way to Chesapeake which is about 25 minutes away. When I got to Chesapeake it turns out they did have next day delivery. Norfolk was just lack of knowledge and she didn't check. They gave me the wrong information. I wound up not buying from the at all, I canceled the order. I ordered it from Lowes. They have Sunday deliveries.

We bought the service agreement with them, which was $150 extra, for them to come out and install it, and to come and check it out twice a year. That included cost of parts and replacement of the unit too if needed, for a period of five years. My in-laws bought a microwave from Sears a long time ago, they have kept up with the payments for the service agreement, and every time the microwave breaks down after they have used it for years, Sears comes out and just gives them a new one. They have done the same thing with their refrigerator also. We had an old dishwasher that was seventeen years old, and it kept giving problems, in that machine it cost $200 just to replace the basket, so a service agreement is cost effective.

They were perfectly fine and were just as expected. They were perfectly efficient and competent. They didn't charge me extra as it was under warranty. Their quality of work was top notch. Their professionalism was a little not too familiar but they were nice guys and did a fine job.

My dishwasher door had become heavy. After calling several companies in the area, I determined that Sears is one of the few who service LG appliances, and I set an appointment online with them right away. The agent was courteous, and the service was scheduled quickly. The technician from A and E (contractor) arrived the next day. He was friendly and professional, and quickly determined that the cord that attaches to my dishwasher door had broken from normal wear and tear. He offered to replace the one on the other side as well, since Sears charges a flat rate of $129 for labor and the parts were only about $5 each. He ordered the part and scheduled a service date the following week, with the instruction that I could continue to use the appliance with care. The parts arrived a few days later, and a technician (also professional) arrived the following week as agreed and replaced the parts in a matter of minutes. Overall, I feel the labor price was stiff for such a small job, but it beats replacing the dishwasher! And the company couldn't have made the repair any easier. I would call Sears again.

We scheduled the repair with sears for between 1 and 4 PM. at 330 we called and were told it had been rescheduled due to no service techs in the area. When asked why no one called, were told : we understand, and can reschedule." This is exactly why I will never use sears repair service again, when it works it works ok, but when there is an emergency, you are placed on hold, and are told "sorry, there is nothing we can do" Sears has lost its way with customer service.

It was under warranty. We went to the Sears Outlet and bought a dishwasher on 12/3 and it didn't work so a technician had to come out. The customer service at the Sears Outlet was excellent. The technician’s service and courtesy was excellent but unfortunately the merchandise still does not work. I called Sears and they are replacing my scratch and dent dishwasher with a brand new dishwasher. They are going to bring it out and take care of it. As frustrating as problems are, they do happen and it is all in how a company resolves the problem that really makes a company. The people that handled it were excellent. I actually asked them if we could get our old dishwasher back. The particular model we bought is not made any more so they are giving us an upgraded model. I think there may have been something wrong with the design. They were super helpful. It did take a while for them to deliver the original dishwasher.

Water Heater Service
The purchase of the gas water heater at the Sears store went smoothly. Since they contract out the installation, that company contacted me to arrange for installation. They maintained contact with me and showed up on time, which was 8:30 a.m. Thinking that the installation should take only a few hours since there was only one small modification that needed to be made, I was surprised when the installer was still here at 3:00 p.m. I don't know if he was new at this particular task or what the problem was, but taking all day to do the job was too much. The installer was apologetic for taking so long, did only a superficial clean up, explained my paperwork, and left to do another installation. I feel sorry for those folks. Additionally, the way he installed the new pipes makes them jut out into the room, taking up more space than the old one.
