not everybody carries. I contacted them based on their advertisement on a Homeorama
that took place in the neighborhood. They made me spend lots of time for a
gutters quote that never arrived (at least, formally). Escalating the issue had
the same outcome.
I first contacted them in March 2013 for a whole-house
quote. They sent Mr. Ronald Oaked. He failed to show for two appointments. On
the third one, he took measurements and then called to say he had lost the
papers with the measures. He missed yet a third appointment and then left a
quote on the voicemail without any indications on what it and did not covered,
materials, etc. We requested a written quote specifying materials, size,
warranty, etc., as it is required by the HOA for their approval. It never
arrived.
Several months later we contacted again the office to
complain about the issue. I spoke with Mrs. Vivian Williams. She promised to
take care of the issue. She sent Mrs. Evelyn Miles a few days later. I explain
to her why we were upset and why this was their last chance to make it right
before we walked away and complain to the BBB. I gave her a page with the information
required to produce a request for approval for the neighborhood. She told us
she already had found the measures, that she appreciated the instructions for
the quote and that she would provide a quote within 10 days.
About the ten days later, someone from the office called to
say that they would not provide the quote, and that they did not want our
business.
Facts end here and now it is all speculation. I have read that
the company founder, Mr. Alan Miles, was (as manager) a good man with a
customer-oriented attitude. Unfortunately, it seems that the generational replacement
is not following the same approach. Apparently they have a significant amount
of work and prefer not to deal with educated (read, potentially demanding) customers.
They like to make an appointment, give a quote on the phone and install what
they think the customer needs, and not what he wants.
Anyway. I am very happy that I did not finally do business
with them. But to be fair, it troubles me to know that there is a company there
that is arrogant enough to make you waste your time and then drop you off.
