I renovate houses and sometimes have a need for someone who knows glass. I met Robert because I had a window with a blown seal. He made me another one that day while I waited. The very next day I needed some channel for a glass shower install. He was able to take care of that also. A few days later, we were still struggling with this shower install. Two of the smartest men I know could not get it to work and the house was going on the market that afternoon. Robert fixed it. He had it done the very next day. I am not suggesting that he can always do everything right away (nobody needs that kind of pressure!) but in my case there was very little turn around time and he charged me very fairly each time. I think he undercharged me for the 3rd thing. Anyway, really nice guy, knows his stuff. Don't let the outside of the building fool you. I will definitely be calling him again.

McCarty's Glass was thorough and did the job in about a half hour. They replaced fogged window panes where the insulation had worn out and installed new ones. The price was 40% less than the quote from another well known glass vendor in the area, so I'm good with that too.

Dropped off both window sashes at 8am both were done in 2 hours. All other shops in the Great Bridge Va. area couldn't do them for a least 48 hours with many excuses. . Needed repaired quickly due to had to leave windows out until repaired. Great job!

Excellent! I dropped the windows off at 6am and they were ready before I could get back there by 2pm. Robert is a very nice man and he runs a great business and does great work! It was a please dealing with him and I'll be using him for any future projects. Thanks to him, my porch looks amazing again!

Robert was responsive from start to finish. This was a really small job but he was prompt, efficient neat and even caulked an extra window at no charge.

Made and kept appointments, returned calls and arrived at promised times.

Builder installed a stainless steel and glass shower door in master bath when we wanted a frameless glass shower door.  We received estimates from 3 companies total, all somewhat similar but went with McCarty's.  He had reschedule his initial trip to the estimate, but called well in advance and did it at my convenience.  He took a look at what was currently installed and said that either he could remove it or I could and save money and told me what I could expect and he was exactly correct, right down to them number screws and location.  Once I told him that we wanted to go with him to provide the door and glass, he ordered it immediately knowing we were working on a short time line.  His time estimate was exact and the door is exactly what we expected from the builder, but at approximately 1/2 the cost as we have learned from several others who have asked to have the same type of glass door in their showers.

At the last minute I also asked to have glass for several picture frames that had fallen off the wall and shattered and he was able to cut and bring that as well.

I called Mr. McCarty in the early afternoon for a price quote to replace broken glass in several house windows.  He gave me an estimate and told me he would do the job that afternoon.
When I arrived at his shop he immediately began repairing the windows.  He finished them all very quickly the same afternoon for the price he quoted me.  Another shop gave me a much higher estimate and would have needed two weeks to order supplies.
I'll definitely visit him again if I need any more glass work done.

Mr. McCarty arrived to review the job when he said he would, and he provided the estimate in a timely manner.  I contracted with him for the installation.  He kept me up to date on delivery and scheduling for the installation.  The company he received the materials from sent the wrong side rails which delayed the installation by 2 days.  Once the walls were installed, he found out that the company also sent the wrong size door.  He expedited the delivery of the correct door and scheduled the final portion of the installation.  He said he would arrive at 1:30 pm and my door bell rang at 1:30 pm.  I would certainly recommend this company to anyone for a quality job.  M. McCarty and his assistant were very pleasant, respectful and mindful of keeping the job area clean.  I am very pleased with the job he did.

I called Robert in the morning. He said he could fix the window at his shop while I waited. It took less than 15 minutes. I cannot be more appreciative! Not only was it less than I expected, but it was fast! I will definitely keep his number for future reference!

I called his shop and provided the dimensions of the desired shelves. He was very friendly and helpful. The shelves were ready for pick up the next morning. The shelves fit perfectly and look great!

Very Fast and efficient process from the time they came to measure to the time of install.  Extreme quality work and fair and honest people.  We will use them again when we re-do our Master Bath.

Robert was a true professional from day one.  He always showed up on time, provided an accurate estimate and was responsive on follow-on questions.  On the day of the installation came and he made the observation that my general contractor had not leveled the shower enclosure curb correctly and refused to install the glass until I was made aware of the situation.  To prevent an unsightly gap, I had the GC correct the curb before Robert installed the glass.  Thank you for doing the right thing, your patience and for coming back that same afternoon to install. The overall experience, frameless shower enclosure and vanity mirror - AMAZING!  I would recommend McCarty's Glass to anyone I know.

Robert was great. Responded to my Angie's List message within 1 hr at night! He stopped by the house the next morning and I had a price before noon. Robert could have replaced the window the next day but I was unable to. Within a few days at my own request the window was scheduled to be replaced and the day of it was done within 20 minutes thanks to his prep before hand. Both realtors on-site were very impressed and took cards for future service. Highly recommended. Comparable company wanted $50 more for same window.

The overall customer experience went very well.  From the minute that I called Robert from McCarty's Glass, he was very eager to come over and provide an estimate, provide solutions and get it fixed as soon as possible.   Robert was very professional and courteous and also made sure that the working area was left cleaner that when he arrived.  We were very pleased and would definitely call McCarty's Glass again.  We hope that you do, too.  I would like to submit this company for a ribbon award that Angie's List utilizes.

My experience in evaluating contractors: My experience in remodels hiring all trades is very extensive: I’ve completely done six major homes over the years. Thus, I have dealt with numerous contractors. Robert is one of the best I’ve ever worked with.

Scope of Project: Using Angie’s List and Better Business Bureau, I searched and evaluated many shower enclosure (frame and frameless) and sought out contractors who could install once our tiling was done. We chose a neo-angle enclosure, many angles and a difficult job. Robert has been in business a long time and represents a very good line of enclosures. He knows enclosures and pointed out the pros and cons of of frame, semi-frame and frameless enclosures.

Professionalism: He is very, very professional and responsible. He is very reasonably priced. Not the low end but important, not the low end - you get what you pay for). He provided a very fair estimate right on the spot. Most important, he is attentive, very responsive (always a phone call response back to me generally within an hour and always within the day). He works well with other sub-contractors to keep things flowing smoothly.

Job Done: The powder room enclosure looks terrific, and never leaks.

Summary: Having done five extensive home re-models, working with all the trades and at least 100 contractors, I CAN TRUTHFULLY SAY HE IS VERY GOOD. His work is top notch. HIS PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE. His work ethic superb and honesty commendable.
