Knew nothing about it; so did extensive web research first. When I talked w/ them, they were completely inline w/ the info I had found. They answered all my questions patiently, gave me a quote, sent me a document outlining planned services in detail prior to commitment. They scheduled, arrived on time, carried out the planned work in the predicted period of time with very minimal intrusion, and cleaned up behind themselves completely. Everyone, from office staff on the phone to workmen on the project, was very professional.

It went well. They arrived on time and finished in one day. All areas were cleaned thoroughly. Once we realized we had asbestos tile in the house, we were very worried we may have a long expensive removal process. The mastic tested 5% asbestos fiber and the tile tested 7% asbestos. Although it was a $3000 expense we had not expected, it was not excessive for asbestos removal and it was all done in one day. They tested the air quality after completing the job and it came back clean.

very professional and thorough. told us how they were going to do it... estimator was the crew chief for the job which really helped... explained the method of removal.... they performed the job in 3/4 a day.
only small complaint was that some of the paint from walls and woodwork was removed when they removed their plastic barrier from cellar stairway. Just wished they would have noted that when they were done.... I can understand why it peeled off. The asbestos certification was quite thorough and they explained all the numbers when I called.

It all went very well. Macson said that they would inform the state of the job, and they did. Mike Savage and his crew arrived at 7:30am on the day that the job was scheduled to be done. They worked quickly and efficiently (and quietly), finishing by 3:30. I have a big house, and I was expecting that they would take longer. Mike explained what they were going to do, and how they were going to do it, and everything seems to have run like clockwork. The final cost matched the original estimate. Four days after the work was done, I had the certificate of completion and the air quality report (positive). The guys I had in to re-insulate the pipes were very complimentary of Mike and his crew's work, noting how clean it was under the house and no visible evidence of asbestos. I am very satisfied with everything.

I don't like the fact that MACSONS Inc really couldn't get the job done, it took them 3 times to come out and remove all the asbestos. Their pricing is adequate.

The price was very reasonable. The scheduling was convenient. Two workers arrived on time and completed the job in 2-3 hours. The siding came off pretty easily, but unfortunately they left all the nails sticking out that held the siding. The nails either needed to be hammered in or pulled out before the new siding could be put up. This is the reason I gave a score of B rather than A. I don't know if this is standard practice in removing siding, but I would think that when you contract to remove siding it would include the nails that hold the siding.

My wife and I had several local lead-removal companies give us estimates (and do sample test areas) for removing the lead paint from our bricks. In each case we were either dissatisfied with the quality of the sample work or the apparent expertise/qualifications of the contractor or both. Then we discovered Macsons, and were impressed by their qualifications and references.

When we called them, they had three men come out to look at different aspects of the job. Also, their price quote was very competitive and even significantly lower than one of the other contractors. Once we hired them, their work was very professional. They showed up promptly on the job at 7 AM each morning, plus they seemed very experienced and diligent about observing all proper OSHA/EPA regulations.

Once the job was complete, we were delighted with the results. The lead paint had been removed even more thoroughly than we had expected. With the other contractors' samples, many small spots of paint had been left in the crevices of the rough brick surfaces, but Macsons was able to remove virtually all of the paint, leaving the bricks looking like they were new again.

Also, after the job was done and we had already paid Macsons, a couple of small issues came came to our attention regarding areas that had not been cleaned properly, etc., and the Macsons people returned promptly and took care of everything to our satisfaction.
