KATHY KNACK INTERIOR DESIGNS

I initially contacted Ms. Knack by phone to ask if she would consider working with me as a consultant to provide her professional opinion and suggestions to me on how I could improve the style and decor of my home. I made it very clear that I was not at the point of hiring a decorator to actually "re-do" any room in my home, however would be in the future. She said that she did consult and would be willing to work with me. She asked for my number, email and address to get back in touch with me later that day as she was not able to check her calendar for availability. This is where the problems started. I did not hear from her that day nor the next, so on the 3rd day I called and left a message. 2 days later I emailed her, and called her and left messages, did not hear back again. The following week, very frustrated, I called her and left a voice mail explaining how upset I was that she had misled me in her willingness to work with me and her unprofessional manners. Only after this nasty message did she finally pick up my next phone call, from a work phone number that she didn't know. She then preceded to give me some lame excuses about being ill for weeks, and being out of office, which I thought odd that she wouldn't return calls to clients being a 1 person company. I forgave her and accepted her excuses, forced a consultation meeting in my home, in which everything went well in my opinion, she gave me the opinions and tips I sought. However as the list was long and the meeting short and overwhelming, she promised a follow up email documenting all her suggestions for me. We also discussed a follow-up meeting/ next appointment to actually re-decorate a room. Since then it has been 2 months, of which I have sent her many emails, several phone calls, messages to set up next appointment. All of these attempts have gone unanswered and un-returned, with the exception of once, in which she returned a call, asked me how things were going, I told her. Asked Kathy to come to my home again to help me pick out furniture and accent pieces for my home-office, she said she was busy and would call me back in about 10 minutes with her calendar to set the meeting. This has been 3 weeks and she has not called, and again is doing the avoiding/ignoring me routine again. I have been hurt and offended to the point now where I won't work with her and have sought out a new home decorator. Ms Knack has made if very clear that if you are not willing to invest thousands of dollars and lots of time in her company than she isn't interested in working with you. She made it very clear, that she is "high-end" and only wants high-end clients. Made it clear to me that I was beneath her notice, and my hundreds of dollars weren't worth her time. I wouldn't have been offended had she not lied to me at the first phone call, when I clearly stated what I was looking for what I was willing to spend. She talks a good game initially and then can't back it up. Poor business practices. Feel sorry for anyone hiring her that is not wealthy and upper class.
