It was perfectly fine. I got what I paid for. Nothing spectacular.

I had a great experience overall. I was the first customer to come in at about 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday, so I was in and out quickly. It's a small shop and there were three mechanics working during the time I was there, one of whom I presumed was the owner. I don't know how busy they normally get, especially during the latter part of the day, or if they always have a small staff working. I did some research before deciding on Hector's Tire and Rims. They had a good review on Angie's and they had the lowest price around for just installing tires--only $10 per tire. Other places were asking $20/per or $35/per. The only inconvenience I experienced (which wasn't really their fault) was that their credit card machine was down and I had to go to an ATM to get cash. The one mechanic I dealt with (who I assumed was the owner) was friendly, greeted me as I walked up to the shop/car port, and was professional. I was out in thirty minutes and am quite happy that my car is now running smoother and is less noisy.

It was a very good experience overall. The employees went out of their way to find the tires I needed. It took a bit longer than they led me to believe but they were very apologetic. I would go here again -- good experience.

"Jim" answered my phone call and then handled me in person when I went to the shop. The shop was very busy, but customer service was excellent with Jim making a point to let each waiting customer know that he would be with them shortly. When Jim dealt with me he determined what kind of tires I needed very quickly and did not try for any "hard sell" tactics. He was straightforward and got two quotes quickly, and did not offer his opinion until I asked him. He gave several options as to when I could pick up the car. If I had cash on hand it could have been done right away (I believe it was because of the running out to get the tires from a third party) but with credit card I could either get it two hours later or the next day. The price was straight forward with no hidden fees or extra cost for mounting the tires. He also checked out my spare tire for free because it had run flat while I was driving to him. When I returned to get the car it was ready to go before the time that was promised. Finally, Jim gave his word that if anything did happen to go wrong he would take care of it. Overall, I got a good "vibe" from the place from the moment I walked in. Note - They do not do alignments.

I needed to replace a tire that had been damaged. I went to the tire dealer (TreatQuarters) where I had bought the tires and had paid for a "road hazard" warranty when I first bought them. I found out that the road hazard warranty covered only a pittance of what a new tire would cost, and to put a new tire on would cost me over $175. I went to Hector's. He immediately found a good used tire of the exact size I needed, mounted and balanced it, and I was out the door in 45 minutes for $30. It's guaranteed for 30 days.
