Finney Psychotherapy Assocs

I first started seeing Douglas quite a few years ago when I was going through a very difficult time in my life. I have seen a number of different therapists over the past 30 years and none has helped me as much as Douglas. It was very hard for me to open up to her in the beginning but she was very patient and never gave up on me. And I was a very frustrating client because she would suggest things for me to try to help me feel better and I would always find reasons why it wouldn't work or why I couldn't do it but she never lost her patience with me. She never pushed me because she knew instinctively that that would just make me withdraw into myself even further. She waited patiently for me find my own way and time to share what I needed to with her.
She has the most kind and gentle spirit and never judges. I know I can talk to Douglas about anything and will never be embarrassed or ashamed. That has not always been the case with others but that has always been the case with Douglas.
I highly recommend Douglas but that is a catch-22 for me because if everyone knew what a wonderful therapist she is then everyone would want to see her and she might not have any time available when I need her!
But, honestly, I couldn't recommend Douglas Finney more highly. I hope she will be a part of my life for a good many years to come as she has been such a blessing to me.

I found the person I was assigned to very unhelpful. Your mileage may vary.

A family member is treated regularly at this practice, and we participated in family counseling. The staff is pleasant and the facilities are comfortable. Some of the counselors seem very good, while others seem perhaps overly encouraging rathing that helping patients take responsibility for their choices. Over the years there have been more than a few cancellations and administrative errors, but everything gets resolved relatively simply. I have not been overly impressed, but they are pleasant and willing to discuss multiple treatment options. They also were very open to providing referrals.
