Doors on Demand was not a company we found through Angieslist. When our original door opener (a like 1970 Raynor FlightStar) took a crap we called our home warranty service. Doors on Demand was that company that they set us up with to come diagnose the problem. When I called Doors on Demand I explained that the door wouldn't open or close and he gave me a few things to try to diagnose myself....to no avail. So we setup an appointment for him to come on thursday at 4. Well 4:30 on thursday came and he hadn't shown up yet. So I called and he was very apologetic and said he got an emergency call from one of his previous jobs and had forgotten to call me to re-schedule. So we setup for 4pm on Friday. He showed up on friday and went right to work...he was very nice and made great conversation about the military and other non related things. The problem was a fried eletrical board within the opener...he said that he could replace the board but that it was a lot of work and that the unit was very outdated anyways. At that point he called the home warranty service and worked it out with them to get us a new unit. He ended up getting us a DC powered unit that is very very quiet (our bedroom is over our garage), much more efficient and has a lifetime warranty. He told us he would be back on Saturday to finish the job early since he missed us on thursday. He came right on time Saturday and removed and replaced our opener in about 45 minutes total. He also programed both of our universal remotes and the new remote. The quality of the install is great! Aside from the hiccup with him not showing up on Thursday the experience was great!! And you can't often say that with a Home Warranty service provider. (He does normal service calls as well.) As a side note we only paid our Home warranty deductible ($100)... the total on the invoice was $389 and that's how much it would have normally cost. I can recommend Doors on Demand!
