movers arrived promptly, however were under-manned despite being told ahead of time there was a large patio solid stone table to move. Loading onto the truck was no problem- however on arrival to the new house- the patio table was dropped- and it broke. The employee was very apologetic- and immediately called his supervisor. They made excuses- assured me they had experience with some kind of epoxy- that could repair my damage. They said they would call me with details-- I never heard from them. After 2 w I contacted them- and they admitted there is no epoxy, and that they had no intention of reimbursing me for my damage, or replacing my table.

The Movers were on time, however, they did not have a truck big enough to move our entire household. The owner did give me a discount fot the items left behind, which was fantastic. My main issue was they said there was not enough room on the truck for my 32 inch PLASMA TV from my bedroom. So after themoving day was finished I moved the TV and when i connected it at my new house it was plain to see the bed siderail hit the TV screen. The company policy was if it wasnt "moved" they were not resposnible.

All phone calls were returned and all questions answered. I spoke with the owner several times and he was most helpful.. Movers were punctual and efficient. Items all arrived safely and were placed in my home. The movers were very personable and easy to work with. I highly recommend this provider and would definitely use them again..

i made arrangements for one day they agreed and then called back said they incorrectly gave ok and rescheduled....on that date weather was bad and i agreed to cancel....called them back after rain cleared up and they advised they could do the job about 2pm...it was alot later but i understand due to traffic...they broke the glass in a picture on the wall in the stairway, hit the wall made a small gouge, and the piece of furniture that hit that wall had a smal l crack in it....it was a difficult turn in the stairway but still was disappointing the damage occured. the guys were very nice,polite etc....it was just an accident....as soon as they left i discovered they didn't bring in the bag that had tv cords, piece to the mirror etc...i called right away and it took several days to get the items returned (and it took several phone calls)

I found the ad for Best Moving and Storage on a placemat at a local restaurant. I needed movers within the next 2 weeks, so I called. Jeff Gallagher answered the phone (it was a Sunday morning) and took all of my information. He seemed genuinely interested in making sure that he understood what my needs were with respect to my move. When he found out that I was a teacher, he offered me a 5% discount - seems that it is his philosophy teachers, policemen and firemen - that made me glad. They were able to accomodate my preferred date which also made me happy.
The day before the move, I received a call to confirm. One hour before the movers were due, I got a call that they were on their way. Three young men showed up. they were extremely polite. As soon as we got the paperwork squared away, the lead guy took a tour of my place and asked a few questions and then they started moving things to the truck. They worked almost non-stop for three hours to load my furniture and boxes. Then they followed me over to my new place and started to unload.
Just about everything ended up in the room as marked. There was no major breakage - We lost a wheel on one of my rubbermaid storage towers and one of my pressboard bookshelfs bit the dust. The bookshelf was a $19.99 self assemble job that was already on it's last legs. They appologized profusely, but I wasn't really worried about it. My glass table made it without a scratch and my new hardwood floors didn't get a mark on them even when they had to carry the washer and dryer up the hardwood stairs.
The guys never complained and never griped. They seemed genuinely happy to be working for their comapany and simply wanted to make sure that they did a good job. I was more than happy to feed them lunch - I had several friends helping with boxes and other things so it was easy enough to include the movers in the lunch count. I felt very glad I had planned on tipping them. They deserved every penny of it.

They were supposed to shrink wrap the dresser drawers to avoid me having to box the contents & I was told they would shrink wrap my furniture, they did neither. They gouged a night stand, they dinged my bedframe, they lost two heavy, beveled pieces of glass belonging to a coffee table. They left a whole room of furniture that did not fit in their truck that they had assured me they would go back to pick up. When they neglected to deliver the remainder of my furniture, I called at least six times leaving messages, none of which were returned. I wound up having to rent a U-Haul and hire people to move the remaining furniture at an additional cost to me of $401.00.

"im glad customer wrote this review and that i am able to respond. this lady called me up almost 4 years ago now to move her items from portsmouth to richmond(remember it like yesterday). she gave me a list of all "HER furniture" 10 days prior to her moving day and in fact I called her the day before the move and went over her moving list again and it was the same. we showed up with a 17 ft truck loaded all the items that was on our/her list and told the customer we were ready to leave for richmond. she then brought us into a BACK room that was never shown or mentioned when we arrived earlier and said this stuff needs to go as well. I explained that these over sized heavy items were never mentioned 10 days ago, yesterday or when we arrived to her home today. she said they were her sisters and needed to be moved to richmond as well. I told our customer that it would cost her more money to go back to office get a bigger truck, unload 1st truck onto bigger truck plus add the other BACK room full of furniture items onto new truck. she said forget it Im paying for my items to get to Richmond my sister will have to make arrangements to get her items moved up there. a few days later her sister callled and wanted to know when was i going to pick her items up and bring them to Richmond and i told her i could do it tomorrow and it would cost her this much $$ money. she started screaming and said that she gave her sister the money to move all the furniture in portsmouth house to richmond. i then explained that i quoted her a price to move the items she said needed to be moved and when we got to the house she never showed us the BACK room until it was time to leave but that these items were never discussed to be moved in the 1st place. what happened here is that the 1st sister told the 2nd sister a higher dollar amount($1000.00) to move all the items but only told me about HER items to be moved for a certain price($700.00) so the 1st sister kept/stole $300.00 of her sisters money. the 1st sister thought we would move everything for $700.00 thats why she didnt tell us about all the furniture upfront."
