AAAA self Storage & Moving

About us

Our 22nd Street self storage location in Norfolk, Virginia is steeped in history. It was originally built more than 100 years ago as a tobacco warehouse. It's location, adjacent to the Norfolk and Western Railroad, was ideal. Later in it's life, it served as a peanut warehouse. As so often it happens, the building passed from owner to owner and fell on hard times. In 1985, it was purchased, renovated and converted into Norfolk's first multi-story self storage facility with more than 320 rooms to serve the downtown Norfolk area. This self storage facility, a multi-story all internal building, has unique features not found in other-run-of-the-mill storage facilities. Security is higher here because the building is completely locked up at night. No one can jump the fence and break into your unit. We have two convenient loading docks with plenty of flat bed transfer carts and a freight elevator to easily get your goods to the second and third floors. The entire building is also protected by a fire suppression system for added safety. Our storage managers are ready to help you select the right storage space for your needs. They can give you tips on the best ways to pack your goods for safety and to get the most into the smallest space. They can counsel you on how to protect your property and if we do not have the space you need we can recommend a nearby facility to help you out.

The people that worked there could not have been nicer. They had good hours, easily accessible, and it was clean. The storage facility was fine but there was some mold damage to our belongings. They gave us all the correct forms and they were good to work with about that.

It's been a fine experience overall. The facility is well-maintained. I know that it is a padlocked facility. There have been times where I haven't secured the padlock, and they called me to let me know of this, which I really appreciated. They've been good to do business with.
