Ed is extremely professional and really is detailed oriented. He asks lots of questions to make sure that the clent and he are on the same page. Sketches are then drawn and shared with the client to make sure we are all on the same page. It is here that things can be tweaked.
The cabinet that Ed made was actually put together at his workshop and all he had to do one he arrived at our house was install in our mudroom. The install went very smoothly. Once the cabinet was in place, coat hooks needed to be installed, so I was asked how high and how many.
The moldings that Ed installed is an example to his attention to detail. Our staircase has many turns and our upper hallway has some extremely short walls where walls and door frames meet. Both of these areas required some creative approaches. Ed carefully measured using a rulers and compass to ensure that the moldings would look just right as they progressed up the stairs. His eye for detail even involved him being bothered by this one section of wall in our lower hallway that looked as if the builder forgot to install molding. This unfinished look bothered Ed so much that he installed molding there for free.
I would definitely used Ed again!

We learned of Ed from someone helping my wife do design work for our new townhouse. We needed a large amount of storage and shelving in one room, and a work area in our loft office area. After looking at furniture, getting enough shelving for us was going to run us at least $10K for the quality we wanted. Ed was able to come in, measure and estimate for us quickly. He pre-built the cabinet and shelf units in his shop, then brought back the pieces to the house to install. The build out took a couple of weeks, the installation took two days for both areas. We were very happy with the final install, and have had Ed back to estimate another project since then. What we ended up getting was maybe twice as expensive as Ikea, but custom built, custom installed and exactly the size and location we wanted without having to compromise. It was less expensive than the furniture we were considering buying from Ethan Allen, even taking into account the cost of painting. We used Juan Beltran painting to finish both cabinets and still need to finish the tile on the top of the work surface.
