J M Huey Company Inc

This was a demanding project and this company made sure that every detail was performed to perfection. In effect, we were adding an addition to our house. Jack regularly came by our house to supervise his superb and experienced crew (Tim and Milton). Throughour the project, Tim, Milton and Jack made thoughtful suggestions that improved upon our architect's design. The end result exceeded our expectations and had drawn raves from our neighbors and friends.
Several specifics: Jack assigned Tim and Milton to the entire project. Throughout the project, both Tim and Milton were polite and took the time to address our concerns. They identified ways to improve the project in ways that met our needs (generally without raising the cost of the project). Some of the suggested changes were technical, some aesthetic (paint colors) and some safety oriented (the need for a railing over some steps). In all cases, the suggestions were made politely and improved the final project.
Most significantly, the quality of their work was superb. We looked at the details of their work quite closely and we couldn't find any flaws. As the work progressed, Tim and Milton explained why they took certain steps and asked our preferences.
Finally, our neighbors commented that Tim and Milton were incredibly hard working and polite while we were at work during the day.
One final note: on a major project like this, I anticipated that the contractor would come up with unexpected and quot;extrasand quot; that would result in additional charges for us. While there two or three changes, they all originated from us (Jack's price was based upon our architect's detailed design and the changes came after we saw that we wanted to make a few minor additional from the plans). Apart from that, no additions from the contractor on this complex project.
Would we hire J.M. Huey again? Absolutely yes!

Jack Huey visited our home to discuss our ideas for bathroom renovations on numerous occasions. We had seen the work JM Huey had done at two neighbors' homes finishing their basement, renovating bathrooms, and expanding master closets into attic). Jack spent a lot of time with us as we made decisions about transforming our 1980's worn out bathrooms into modern, functional, and uplifting spaces. Jack was very patient with us and offered great design suggestions and even met with us on numerous occasions at local tile, cabinet, and countertop businesses to fine tune our selection process. Once we made the decision to go with JM Huey ( we had gotten estimates from other businesses), we signed the contract, set a date to start work, and paid a deposit.
Tim and Milton who work with JM Huey were on time every day and did a spectacular job. They are perfectionists in their carpentry, tile, and painting skills. They are fun to work with, easy to talk to, nice people, and really cared about doing the job right. Of course our home has problems ( walls weren't straight, floors weren't level) but Tim and Milton know how to work with and solve these problems. They are very trustworthy and I felt comfortable having them here in my home alone to do the work. Everyday they thoroughly cleaned the workspace before leaving. Jack called frequently to see how things were going and stopped by to check on the progress of the work often.
We had some issues with the factory sent plumbing fixtures that took a while to figure out but the plumbers were diligent and worked to solve the problems so that our bathrooms work exactly like we want them to.
Our overall goal to renovate our small, broken, and outdated bathrooms into high end, attractive and functioning spaces was met and exceeded with the JM Huey Company. When we have another project, they will be the first contractor we will call. Loved their professionalism, patience, and product.

The J.M. Huey Company is superb, and I feel so blessed to have found them. Their work was excellent and done with a high degree of professionalism and quality. These men know what they're doing.
I'm a tough customer ..... I like things done right and well. They exceeded my standards (not always easy to do with me). Their work spaces were kept clean and orderly, they listened to my input and offered suggestions, and they finished the job on time.
My completely new kitchen is beautiful. I love it.
The bathrooms look wonderful.
The 70+ year old floors look amazing and everyone comments on their beauty. The repairs are not visible and the finish fantastic.

Jack (the owner), Tim, and Milton were wonderful. They turned my ugly, dated house into a cozy, warm, and inviting home that is a pleasure to live in.

Overall the two man JM Huey crew did an excellent job. They always showed up at the house early and worked hard. Communications was great with the workers and the office. They happily answered any question that was asked concerning the work. The crew was very professional and always cleaned up at the end of the day. They were open to changes in the original contract. The work was competed ahead of schedule. It was amazing how much work just two people could get down in a day. We had received a number of estimates and the JM Huey estimate was very competitive to the others.
