We hired this guy through our realtor. He did a quick inspection and highlighted a few things which we had fixed. However, after we moved in we started noticing a lot of other problems. First, a contractor told us that we may have water damage and rot in our basement wall. Then when we had our carpet on our stair case replaced, the carpet guys told us that our stair case was broken. The inspector told us that he couldn't look under the carpets, but the stair case was squeaky and had a noticeable weak spot. He wouldn't take any responsibility for missing the broken stair case, even though it was a big problem. The whole stair case was pulling away from the wall, and one stair had a hole in it. It looked like it was going to fall down at any moment. Then we noticed that there was a hole in the corner of our attic. This was never pointed out to us, and became a big problem when winter started. The little hole is now a big hole, and we are looking at a big repair.
All the time during the inspection, and after we asked him why he didn't find these major problems, he just kept saying how his inspection was only what he could see and he couldn't put holes in the walls. However, the stairs and the hole in the attic were obvious problems that he didn't point out. If we would have known about these issues we wouldn't have brought the house.

Dave was knowledgeable, thorough, and helpful. We asked a ton of questions but he always answered patiently and in detail. My wife and I were very happy with his services and would recommend him highly to family and friends.

We arrived and David Grant was already there at the house waiting. He explained the details of what he would inspect and the level of inspection. We made payment. He spent four hours making notes and explaining areas of concern as he went. After he was finished he provided a report for us to review before he left.

Due to unusual circumstances, we needed an early Saturday morning inspection. He cheerfully accommodated our needs, at no extra charge. David was prompt, highly professional, thorough, and very personable. I am a realtor and plan to use him again soon. I can highly recommend him. David Grant, the home inspector, was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, polite and responsible. We are not selling our home, but wanted a detailed home inspection of our 65 year old brick townhouse end unit in order to anticipate, plan and budget repairs. Mr. Grant was excellent from the first phone call. He asked detailed questions about the house before providing an estimate. He spent over 5 hours inspecting inside and out, and another 30+ minutes reviewing his findings with us in detail, with very clear explanations. As he worked, he entered his notes and findings into a handheld computer which he connected to a portable printer. We were presented with a binder that included a 4 page summary home inspection report, 14 page detailed report, business card, copy of contract, plus very useful seasonal/maintenance checklist and a 192 page home repair handbook. I not only have a thorough inspection report and recommendations, but also a manual that explains how my house works!
