I'm giving a "C" rating because the work was done properly but the price was ridiculously high in my opinion ($380 for 45 minutes of labor only since I procured the parts ahead of time.) Perhaps this is the going rate in the COVID-19 environment? I asked for a quote up front in writing but didn't receive one. This was partially my fault for not insisting on one before they did the work - I relied on another consumer publication that said their prices were average compared to other plumbers. They told me that they don't price work by the hour - just a flat fee - and explained that the initial service call was $190, plus an additional $130 for the installation of the two flappers and $60 for the drain cleaning. The father and son team that did the work were punctual and pleasant - no problems in that regard. My recommendation is that if you hire Chantilly Plumbing you should confirm the price upfront. When I questioned the price after the work was done, they explained that they don't work by the hour.

We were given a 2 hour window for the plumbers' arrival time. They arrived a little later than expected, but we received a call from their office letting us know they were running about a half hour behind and checking to make sure that would still be OK. Once they arrived, they were able to quickly check and fix the problem as well as double checking the rest of the pipes to make sure there didn't appear to be any other issues. They were friendly and responsive to questions.

Very well. Ron spent time during the estimate to figure out the best way to do what we wanted done, rather than saying "no" as we've had with other contractors do, or saying "sure" and charging what turned out to be extra work. As we were going from a passive air vent to a horizontal power vent, our initial thought was to run the new vent pipe out the back of the house. Ron examined the space, and came at the problem from a different angle that minimized cost. On the job, he and his son went to great lengths to ensure no extra damage was done. Ron explained exactly what had been done, answering all questions we had about the installation and new water heater. They cleaned up well after. We have used Chantilly Plumbing for several years now, and each experience impresses us. Highly recommend!

When I discovered yet another leak from my home's polybutylene pipes I began by looking for highly rated plumbers on Angie's List to get estimates from for whole-house pipe replacement.  I contacted Chantilly Plumbing based on the Angie's List reviews at the time.  They were very courteous on the phone and had someone out to my house within 24 hours of my call (I believe it was the very same day, but don't remember precisely now).  The plumber was very professional and seemed highly knowledgeable about his craft.  He struck me as having integrity.  The price quote from Chantilly was equal to or better than the other companies I got estimates from.

While we can't speak for the quality of the plumbing side of the company, we can unequivocally describe our remodeling experience with CP as extremely frustrating and disappointing.  No one involved with the project seemed to have any pride in producing a quality job.  Some of the things we experienced are below.  Note: we can photographically document many of these statements should anyone suggest we are lying or exaggerating.

1. During demolition the crew placed the removed pieces of shower glass directly on our front lawn for several hours directly in the July sun, burning out sections of grass, some of which have not recovered as this is written; this was after we had specifically requested to have no work of any type performed on that area of the lawn.

2. Demolition began on July 14th; punch list items completed on September 23rd.  Because Ron insisted on 'starting' the project while many of the parts were on backorder, no work on the project (aside from some of the floor tile) occurred for nearly three weeks following demolition, and then the project took another eight weeks to complete due to the slowness of the crew, the need for constant reworking, and the apparent lack of priority given to our project (there were many days when no work was performed).

3. One day early in the project the crew left the house key (which was supposed to be kept in a lockbox) still in the lock for the front door as they drove away.

4. We were never provided a final list of the parts ordered by Ron from the main supplier along with cost, despite asking for this invoice at least a half-dozen times.  We eventually gave up.

5. The foreman never took notes during our conversations; as a result, our requests and instructions were consistently miscommunicated - or not communicated at all - to the crew.

6. The crew attempted to pass off as 'completed' tile work (1) three separate missing 1-inch glass pieces, which were simply filled with grout; (2) misaligned  3-inch tiles on the shower floor; (3) various misaligned bullnose and other smaller cut pieces. Some of these were 'fixed' at our repeated insistence but others are things we will just have to live with.

7. The crew was very sloppy about protecting previously completed work. Several surfaces ended up with minor scratches and cleaning of the floor tile took two days in order to remove stains that could have been avoided simply by use of a dropcloth. The only item we retained from the old bathroom to new - the toilet - ended up with large scratches on the seat lid due to carelessness.

8. The crew failed to inspect one of the medicine cabinets before installing it (door opening opposite of our instructions), and so only afterwards did they observe breaks and cracks in each mirrored section (or they produced these cracks themselves?), necessitating a complete uninstall.   During this install / removal, damage to the visible side of the drywall (overlooking the foyer) occurred.

9. The crew installed the wrong hardware on one of the vanity drawers (knob instead of handle), then after patching the drill hole with putty and color match, did not point out their mistake, hoping we wouldn't notice.   Similarly, damage occurred to the facing of one of the toilet cabinet doors (splintering) with the same outcome (tried to hide it from us).

10. We contracted with an independent company to do the shower glass work (not the one recommended by CP), and during measurements informed us that one of the shower walls was leaning 3/4" from level, meaning the shower glass had to be installed off-center.

11. The crew helped themselves to items from our garage; a 5-gallon bucket 'disappeared' as well as our supply of bottled water.  While the cost of replacing these items was not significant, the fact that we weren't asked first left us with a feeling of disrespect.

Based on all of these issues we cannot recommend CP for any remodeling project.
Response from CHANTILLY PLUMBING & REMODELING INC

"In response to this review , we contracted this project out to a sub that we have used for several years with nothing but great praise from other customers. Although we started this project without all material being on site it was at the request of the Fishers that we get started. Yes we were told by our suppliers items that were suppose to be 2 weeks out turned into being 3 to 4 weeks out . There were items that needed to be corrected and were not the best quality workmanship but all items were corrected. We were asked to order off there order sheet which we did and all items were delivered and installed exactly as they requested. Not sure why we needed to return the same list they provided us back to them for review? As far as items missing from there garage this is the first time we have heard anything and if this was true it should have been addressed then instead of making false accusations now.The project was completed last week and the Fisher's have signed off on all items."

From the first phone call to completion of the work, it was less than a week.  Everyone I spoke with was friendly, knowledgeable, considerate of my time and just down right professional.  The installation of the new system required some new pipes, attachment of the filter, removal of the old system, removal/replacing of the laundry tub (the main water switch was under the laundry tub), and installing two canister tubes plus bypass valves for the new system.  A lot of work and they were in and out of my home in under 2 hours, including providing me with a walk thru of the new system, what to do, what not to do, and call if you need anything.  Now this is customer service!

Before contacting Chantilly Plumbing, I had contacted another company that had quoted me about twice as much as Ron quoted me. I like a good price, but I often prefer to pay more if it means I am likelier to receive better more professional service. After reading the reviews on here I was reassured that this lower price was just part of good service. I really feel I got a very good and professional work for a reasonable price. Ron is experienced and seems very knowledgeable, was polite, easy to get I touch with and he was on time.

Additionally, I think it is important to note what happens when things don't go as planned and there is an unexpected problem. I think the work was very well done, but unfortunately the night after the work was done we found there was a leak. We shut off the main valve for the night and called Ron. At this point we had already paid in full. We got a call back from Ron early in the morning and he came right away to fix it. The system has worked perfectly ever since and has been worth every penny. I am glad to say that we have found a good plumber that we can trust and we will be contacting him for any of our future needs.

We got a quote from them for service we needed. We did not go with them as a friend of ours was able to do it for us.

After researching plumbers on this website and Checkbook.org we chose Chantilly Plumbing.  The young lady in the office is very friendly and easy to work with.  I called mid week and they were able to come out the following Monday.  This was not an emergency so there was no rush.  I had a 9 to 11 window and they showed up around 10:45.  There were 3 guys who did the work and they were done in under 2 hours.  They were friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my questions.  I think the price was high for what I had done, especially considering I provided the water pressure regulator.

They were good.  Chantilly Plumbing used a bicycle pump to back out the piece of lead.  But the problem was shortly after dislodging it, when you turn on the hot water the problem came back.  So I ended up calling another provider.  But Chantilly Plumbing made a good attempt.  Nobody knew what size that piece of sorter was; just big enough to clog the hot water line and keep us having hot water flow.  That was challenging.  Chantilly Plumbing thought they had found a solution that would have resolved it.  He was just looking trying to find an alternative way to remove that lead sorter without cutting the pipe.  But no one knows where the backup is.  They made the effort that was needed trying to correct the problem.  They came out the very next day that I called and they were on time.

Called, spoke with the incredibly pleasant Shelly, Ron & Chris came out the same day.  I was braced for the worst, having heard two phone quotes of over $350.  They looked at the valve, shut off the water, replaced it, and were on their way within 30 minutes.  After 2 months, the valve works wonderfully.  Top of my list for plumbing work.

We called Chantilly Plumbing because my mother had a situation recently where she needed to turn the main water shuttoff valve due to a water-related emergency and, because it hadn't been used in so long, it started to leak after it had been turned off and on several times. She used Chantilly Plumbing, based on a recommendation, to replace the broken shuttoff valve with a lever-style shuttoff valve. She had a positive experience so we decided to hire them to replace our main shuttoff valve.
Our house was built in 1972 and the main water shutoff valve was difficult to turn.  To prevent a situation such as having it break during an emergency that required us to use the shuttoff valve, we decided to replace it with the newer lever style shutoff valve.  During the process, we found a second valve that needed to be replaced so we scheduled a second appointment.  It was easy to schedule an appointment and communication was excellent, from start to finish.  Chris answered my many questions with patience.  We're pleased with the company's timeliness, professionalism, responsiveness, neatness, and with the quality of work.  We plan on hiring them again.

Rich came in and provided me with a very good estimate for the work and reviewed different options for the solution.  When he came to do the work, he arrived on time, with his associate, and started right in to work. (The inspector who came to check the ground work stated that he 'really knew what he was doing').
After the ground work inspections, they returned to complete the plumbing runs for the bathroom, wet bar, garage sink, and to install the shower stall. All of the work was completed in short order and was excellently performed.  They removed all the debris and left the work area very tidy.
