Garage Door Repair
Devante Martin showed up on October 8, 2025 and fixed the problem where the left side cable came upwound from the spool and identified probems with wrong size roller installed on gargage door for the top and bottom roller were undersized. He was very open to listen to me as the customer and problems I was encountering with a 25+ year old bi-fold garage door with genie garage door opener and checked out that the door was now opening and closing correctly. If, I need more work done with Wallen Garage Door, I would ask that he be the person to come out and fit the problems.

Garage Door Installation and Replacement
When we began our garage project, we knew that our existing doors needed work. We just happened to see a Wallen truck in our neighborhood, and called the number on the side of the truck. Within minutes, Julie scheduled Anthony to circle back to meet with us. Anthony explained in detail the pros and cons of many different options, and ultimately we determined our best option was to replace instead of repairing the existing doors. We really underestimated the amount of time it takes to plan and design doors that would fit the architecture of our home, and Julie provided ALL details that helped us make the decision on doors that would not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also the most energy efficient doors that would fit into our budget. Julie took the time to do many renderings of what the doors would look like on our house, also providing a 'Wallen's Choice', based on our needs and design decisions at no cost to us. Julie also indicated that there was no pressure to go with any of these and would strive to work with us, if we determined that Wallen was our company of choice. It was obvious that Wallen would be our company of choice, as they are very competitive with pricing and value. Once we made our decision (we chose Wallen's choice!), Julie provided all of the details of the installation, our decisions, warranty information, leaving nothing out. While we decided the traditional 'half down, half due at project completion', Wallen also has payment options that were offered. It took approximately three weeks for our doors to be made and once they were ready and QA'ed by Wallen, there was about a week lead time for the installation to be completed. Julie and Kim did an excellent job of communicating any pre-requisites that we needed to complete before the installation was to be completed. Additionally, a pre-installation checklist was emailed for us to work off of, and the office team was always there to answer any of our questions. We were provided an email communication indicating the date/day and time window of when the installation team would be onsite. Wesley and the installation team arrived exactly when they said they would -- between 0800 and 1200. Once onsite, the team reviewed everything that was to be completed, and actually asked us if we had questions. I think this is one of the few times that I've ever had an installer take the time to do a thorough walk-thru! The install team was very courteous and professional, and went above and beyond our expectations. They completed the removal of the old doors, being cautious not to scratch or scrape any of our newly painted walls, and again, explained where they were in the install process when asked. All of the team members knew their jobs and definitely worked as a team. We had one piece of new trim that had been damaged, which was promptly replaced and installed with no issues. When complete, Wesley explained maintenance recommendations, and had us 'test' the opening/closing of the doors, reviewing the completed project with us. Overall, from planning, design, ordering and installation, the Wallen Team (Wes, Julie, Anthony, Kim to name a few), exceeded our expectations, and I would highly recommend this awesome company. The best experience we've had with a service company!

I contacted Wallen to repair an off track garage door. The price seemed high, however, I have nothing to compare it too. However, the scheduler contacted me with a four hour timeframe. I contacted them and requested the technician at the early possible time. On the day of the appointment, they arrive at 8 o'clock (earliest time). The tech conducted an assessment of provided two quotes; one for required required repair, and one including recommend repairs (I choose required). After agreeing on the work, he quickly completed the work without issue.

Was quoted $250 appx to replace garage door springs. Representative cam out and wanted to upcharge me to do extra stuff I didn?t ask for or need. When I told him what I was quoted, he said it was only for one spring and the cost would be over $500 if I got both springs replaced. Again, I was quoted appx $250 for the job. When I told him I was previously quoted by another company $400 for the job, and I chose Wallen because they provided me a better quote, he said he had to call his manager. He can back with a quote if $400, spent less than 30 minutes changing the springs and put in smaller springs than one?s he replaced.

You are correct we informed you the estimated cost for a [one] spring was 250-280, and have used your feedback to educate our customer service representatives on garage door springs and the importance of estimating the cost of TWO springs even when a customer indicates only one is broken. We are sorry the outcome of your service left you feeling surprised and misled on the cost, which is why we discounted the rate to $400. While it may seem cost effective to replace only the broken spring rather than both of them, after examining your door we found it to be a disservice to you and your safety by offering a short term fix to a long term problem. The disproportionate energy of the new spring with the seemingly undamaged spring would have caused extra pressure on one side of the door causing the old spring to break down sooner than expected - leaving you with yet another costly repair. Improperly balanced springs can cause damage to other parts of your garage door, the opener's motor, and even serious injury. Our intent was not to leave you feeling up-charged, but to keep your garage door running smoothly, increase the lifespan of your door, and ultimately save you money on future repairs. Devin was very polite and good at what he does.They even gave me a military discount. This was much appreciated. Julie the office manager was raised in Virginia Beach and was extremely nice.
