Appliance came to my house to address/repair problems I was having with my
refrigerator as well as my washing machine.
My washing machine was making intermittent and abnormal
noises and was not getting the water spun out of the clothes like it should. He
informed me the belt was worn and he replaced it.
That seemed to fix it initially, but soon thereafter a
different noise would intermittently occur and it did not seem to be spinning enough
water out of the clothes. I made the assumption that the belt was not the problem
after all and that he had been unable to diagnose what the real issue was. I
was not interested in calling them back out here and paying a trip charge to have
him come if it was not going to be able to be fixed. My thinking was that if it
were something besides the belt, he would have known so and addressed it.
I eventually became motivated enough by the frustration of
my clothes taking double the time to dry than they should because of being so
damp coming from the washer that we bought a new machine. When the old machine
was removed, it was discovered that the belt tensioner on the right had not been
tightened. This means the belt was not tight enough and therefore was not
spinning the water from the clothes like it should. Also, it was discovered that
the housing on the transmission pulley was gone. We believe that was the
intermittent noise we heard, that it was the plastic piece spinning against the
tray that the washer sat in as it had rubbed grooves into the tray.
I then realized that Steve had been negligent in tightening
down the belt tensioner which left me with a machine that was not repaired
properly.
On May 15, 2014, I visited Tand S Appliance and spoke with the
owner. I explained all of this to her. She informed me that I should have
called them in November to come back out. Since I had waited 6 months, there
was nothing that could be done about it. I was requesting that someone come out
and tighten the belt tensioner and finish what had not been properly done at
the outset. She again reiterated that I should have called for them to come
back out in November and that because it was 6 months later, there was nothing
she could do about it.
I am disappointed that they (Steve) did not properly
complete the job to begin with. I am also disappointed that this business believes
“there is nothing I can do about it.” I will not be using their services again.
Tonya was a pleasure to work with and an absolute delight. She explained everything to me very clearly. I could understand everything that she stated. She is the master technician for the company. It was a joy to see a female that was the technician. I was so pleased that I will be using them for any appliance needs in the future.
