I was shocked and delighted when they got the job done less than 72 hours later AND before we were due to have some dangerous and potentially damaging thunderstorms. This is the second job Reliable Tree Service has done for us and we couldn’t be happier with their service. Highly recommend these folks.

My family has used this company for well over twenty years on multiple occasions. The most recent occasion was this past fall when Hurricane Matthew was threatening our area. I have a huge tree in my backyard and I was worried that a part of my tree was dying therefore compromising the integrity of the tree. I made one phone call and Rob was at my house within a couple of hours to look at my tree and re-assured me that everything was fine with the tree and the surrounding structures. This isn’t the first time I have used this company in an emergency situation. In the Nor’easter we had in November 2009, a huge tree limb snapped off one of my trees and landed on my house. Once again, I made the phone call and he was out there in a storm tarping the roof of my house and securing the limb so no further damage would incur. I have used Reliable Tree Service in many capacities; they have removed trees, pruned them and are always my first phone call in an emergency situation. Their customer service is first class, not to mention the knowledge Rob and his staff brings to the job. I would without a doubt recommend them to anyone

Excellent. We have used this company twice. Once for a huge job and once for a small one. Both times they were responsive and professional.

From the beginning they were very quick to respond to my emails for scheduling. They came out to do the quote on a holiday which was actually great for us since we didn't have to miss work and we could both be here. It took us a while to get back to them but that was our fault because we had to schedule with the neighbors. I was finally able to give them the go ahead on a Sunday and by that evening they responded that someone would be out the next evening (again working around my work schedule) to sign the quote. They started the work the following day. Very quick turn around, very courteous, quick response and we are very pleased with their work. At the end of the day everything was cleaned up and the tree trunks were stacked nicely in the street. Would definitely use their service again.

Response from RELIABLE TREE SERVICE
"We find this review not only troubling but very insulting. First of all, this was a very difficult and dangerous tree, it was between two houses and part of the tree was cracked, and we did it at a fantastic price, 1400.00 cheaper than the next lowest bid. In addition to that, we said that the fence had to be removed prior to the start of the job, when we arrived the fence was still in the ground, we took it down and hauled part of it away at no additional charge. In regards to the stump, the stump was completely ground, you wanted additional roots from the stump ground, this was not part of the contract, and we explained that following the roots was not included in the contract and that it is even marked on the contract that it is not included, but we said that we could do it for an additional charge, you acknowledged that you could see this on the contract but said that you felt we should include it and you would give us a bad review on Angie's List since we were not throwing it in for free. The stump mulch removal was also not included on the contract, and this is clearly written on the contract as well, again we offered to haul it away but it would be for an additional fee, as the contract stipulates, our contracts are clearly written and we do everything that is stated on them, to suggest we did anything otherwise is completely untrue. In regards to the yard, taking down large trees will always leave some impression on the lawn, especially a tree with a six foot base, but we even put down plywood in an effort to protect your yard and my crew did an excellent job. The holes that were left were from the fence that we took down for free and when you mentioned the holes you said that you MIGHT trip in the hole,as an incentive to get me to fill the holes for free, these are holes from the fence that I took down for free that should have already been removed before my crew arrived. Your review which states that you almost tripped and fell in this hole and I chuckled implies that I saw you almost trip and fall and I laughed, this never happened, and I find this to be the most insulting part of your statement. I feel that we did an exceptional job on a very dangerous tree at a clearly much lower price than any of my competitors and that your complaints are in retribution for our company not doing additional work for free that was not included in our contract."

Rob's team was very professional. They finished cutting down the two trees and grinding the stump within 3.5 hours. They took the trees down well without damaging my deck, the fence line, or anything on my neighbor's side of the fence. They also had a lot of different times available when I first called, although they did have to reschedule once from my preferred time. The best part was the cost. They were by far the cheapest quotation that I got for these trees and I checked with several area tree services. I was worried that the quality was going to be lower due to the cheap price, but that was not at all true. The team they sent was professional, did their jobs on time, and did things really well. I would use Reliable Tree Service again if needed and would recommend them to anyone who needs tree services done.

Response from RELIABLE TREE SERVICE
"We are very sorry to see that you thought our quality was only a B. We pride ourselves in both our professionalism and industry skill level. Your job was not an average job considering that the tree had fallen across your yard onto a shed and fence. When we used the crane to remove most of the tree, the yard damage was nonexistent, except for the damage caused by the already fallen tree. The reason that we used the bobcat was to move the large portion of trunk that had been set down in your yard, per your request,in order to remove the large bee hive inside the trunk, while working with a bee expert that you suggested. We are very happy to have been a part of rescuing a complete hive of bees since we respect and value their importance to our environment, but if we had not set down the trunk in your yard to facilitate their removal, per your request, we could have simply lifted the entire trunk with the crane out to the front and not used the bobcat at all in your backyard. It is our desire that all of our customers are completely satisfied with our work and we are sorry that you are unhappy with some of it, but please be assured that we did the very best job possible, taking into account the difficulty of the fallen tree and the nature of working with the bees. We appreciate the nature of emergency or storm damage jobs and the stress that they can cause a homeowner, and we try to work with our customers in every way possible, from the estimate process, through the completion of the job and the payment process while waiting for insurance checks to clear. We try to do our very best to work with a customer on every aspect of the job taking all variables into account."

A team came to cut the tree/gind the stump which they did. The problem I had was the aftermath. The tree was taken down at my 98 yr. old mothers house and I did not see anything until the next day. There was trash in the front and back yard I had to clean up (water bottles, fast food lunch bags, bags of snacks etc.) Then I saw the 3 foot by 10 foot mound of dirt left behind with 2 big holes left in the ground after the stump was ground down. I called Rob, and he came over to pick up the final check and see what I was talking about. He said that's the way it should look after a tree stump is ground out. I said it was unacceptable, that it was a huge mess that I personally (65 yr. old female) and my mother could not move. He said he would have to hire one of his workers to come out and fix it, but I would have to pay an additional $300 on top of the $1,900 I had paid. We decided the dirt could go in the far back yard that is just leaf litter. Also the post hole for the clothes line was buried in the dirt so it couldn't go back up. I came back the next day, and I saw a smoothed out large mound of sawdust which is the normal appearance it should have had, but the post hole is still buried underneath all the sawdust. So I still can't put up the clothes line. The dirt must have been either moved elsewhere or packed down because it was not in the back of the yard as discussed. That was no biggie, but from what I understand after a stump is ground up it should look like a pile of sawdust, not a potential mud mound 3x10 feet. So I am a dissatisfied customer from this point of view.
Response from RELIABLE TREE SERVICE
"We are troubled and confused that you feel dissatisfied about your job. We always explain upon the initial estimate that stump debris removal is not included in the contract unless it is specifically marked because there is an additional fee. We do this because most of our customers, because of the savings involved, would prefer to move the mulch themselves. While we understand that once you saw the amount of debris left behind from such a large tree that you did not feel that you would be able to move the mulch, this was the choice that was made at the initial signing of the contract. After you saw the amount of mulch present at the completion of the job, you did state that you would like it to be removed and we explained that our price would be higher but one of our employees could do it for you on his own time at a cheaper price in the effort to save you some of the cost. This is the situation that occurred in this instance. Our company prides itself on professional work, we have a long reputation in this community of doing quality work at reasonable prices with customer service as our goal. We feel that we were upfront in our pricing and tried to come to a solution that would be beneficial to you, we are very sorry that you do not feel the same."

I called Reliable Tree Service on either 3 or 4 September and Rob came out that evening to give me a free estimate.  Rob provided me with two estimates; one that included removing the tree limbs and the other estimate was for just cutting the limbs down and leaving them on the property.  As money is tight, I opted for just cutting the tree limbs down and leaving them there.  Rob was also willing to negotiate his estimate and we agreed on a lower price.  Rob was also willing to do the job on Saturday, 6 September.

The only snafu occurred when they were delayed on an earlier job and had to come over a bit later than originally expected.  The good thing was Rob called to let me know they would be delayed then called again when he knew when they would be over.

When the crew arrived they began working right away.  They got the job done quickly and safely.  The crew was professional, polite, and hard working.  They even cut the larger limbs into more manageable sizes for me after they were on the ground.  I greatly appreciated that.

I will definitely consider Reliable Tree Service for future jobs.

The whole thing was a bit frustrating, but it was mostly due to the daily rain we were getting.  The job kept being postponed because of the rain.  Then it was postponded another day becasue the lift operator was sick.
Although not proactive on keeping us updated, the owner was always very responsive when we called him to get updates.
They did a good job despite all the delays and came back to regrind the stump when it was discovered that it had not been ground down enough.
I would recommend and use this company again, but I would be sure to give myself plenty of time to get the job done, since work like this is so weather dependant.

I called Friday morning requesting a quote and he came out that afternoon. The work was performed Monday while I was at work. My neighbors said they were very professional from what they saw. He stopped by for payment after I came home from work and answered any questions I had. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing this service.

They were close and convenient because the owner lives just one street away from us. They gave me a good price for the service. They worked hard and they got all the work done in one day. They were fast. They did a good job and they did exactly what our original agreement was. Our original agreement estimate was $2000.00 even but then I asked for additional work and that's where the extra $300.00 came from. That was a fair price for what they were doing but I had to kind of ask them a couple of times to do the work the way that I wanted. I just felt that I had to explain it more than necessary to get the desired result. I did not pay them to remove the wood they chopped down so I have a lot of wood in my yard that I'm chopping up into firewood. I had left for work before they were completely done and left my property then the neighbors tell me that someone came by and loaded some of the wood into someone's truck. Maybe they thought that it was okay because I've got all these extra wood and I don't need this much but they didn't ask my permission. If they asked me, I would have been fine with it but it didn't seem right since they didn't ask. They surprised me. When we had originally got the estimate, they said that the job would be the following week after the estimate was written but they just showed up one morning and said, "We're here to do all the work." We weren't prepared.

We made arrangements to see Rob on Sunday after agreeing to having three large oak trees on the side of our house removed.  When he arrived we asked about five large trees in the backyard.  The price he gave us for the total project seemed very fair so we agreed to have all eight removed.  Rob and his team showed up Monday morning and spent the day removing the large oaks between two houses plus topping one  tree in the backyard.  The team was very professional in carrying out these tasks.  Tuesday it rained all day, but Wednesday the team was back and proceeded to finished the job within a few hours.  They were very adept in using a large crane to remove the large tree pieces over the top of our house.  Rob got a tree stump grinder into our backyard without removing our fence and his team made quick work of the stumps.  They proceeded to haul away all the large tree trunks after chipping the smaller pieces.  The crew cleaned up the driveway and street of any debris from the trees.  Now our backyard will have more sunlight and we look forward to growing some better grass along with less raking of leaves.  Absolutely recommend Rob Hendron and the Reliable Tree Service team.

On Tuesday Rob came out and gave me a quote to remove a very large tree (80-100ft), haul away the debris and grind down the stump. Also we agreed that if he removed the side yard fence I would be responsible for putting it back up which I thought was a good deal. The price he gave me seemed fair so I scheduled him to come out on Monday morning. When Rob and his team arrived they removed my side yard fence so they could get their equipment in the back yard and they got to work. His guys picked up the brush left over from the tree removal and they even shoveled up the dog poop in the yard. They hauled away all the limbs and trunk pieces and ground down the stump (which was massive). They left me a nice size pile of mulch from the stump that I plan to use on my flower beds. They were professional and safe. Rob and his team did great work. I would recommend their service to anyone.
