Very well. The siding was improperly installed 7 years prior and was no longer available. RA Jones very careful conserved all the siding so it could all be reattached after they had done the repairs and sealing of the rough exterior of the house. The job they did the deck and gazebo was just perfect.

Had some discussion on the price and came to a mutual agreement. Work was done very well, care was taken to protect the nearby shingles, the inside of the house was covered for any debris (the work was all done from the roof). The carpenters and helper were all very professional/skilled and polite. Work took the better part of two days, they cleaned up at the end of the first day and of course at the completion of the work.

Our relationship began way back in 1990 when we made repairs in the area of your back steps. In 1991 you had us build a ground walk, followed shortly by replacing your deck, complete with handrails and steps. In 2004 we remodeled your front entrance. Then in 2005 your basement flooded. You were wise to call R A Jones, Inc. as we know how to work with insurance claims. We got that one all fixed up for you. Unfortunately you experienced storm damage in late 2009. But along with the repairs necessary due to that damage, we incorporated a bathroom remodel. Then not so long ago, in 2012, we enclosed your screened porch with an EZ Breeze system. I have an EZ Breeze system on my screen porch and it enables me to use my porch all year long. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine! Thank you for being one of our very valued customers. Extremely pleased with the results. Robert was consistent in giving updates when any delays were anticipated and throughout the project. His carpentry crew were the utmost in quality work (like what my father would have done if he were alive today). I have two bathrooms to be redone and will most definitely seek him and his team when I am ready to accomplish this. Though his estimnate was higher than the other three contractors I sought, he was "on the money" for the price and the thoroughness of his estimate before i ever signed on the dotted line. There were some delays with a granite subcontractor/supplier but he worked diligently to resolve those issues and kept me informed. You will not be unhappy having him as your contractor.

I have no complaints about their work and their getting it done in a timely fashion. When a sub made a mistake, they had it corrected immediately to our satisfaction.

First of all he is highly recognized in the area being very reputable. He was with us too and was professional. The job was excellently performed. His workers were courteous and we were completely satisfied. I would recommend them to others. He is very nice. He had competitive prices. He wasn't the cheapest but we knew his work was quality work and that's why we chose him. He kept us informed of everything as the windows were a special size and they had to come from a factory and when the factory had a delay he kept us very well informed.

We ended up having to fire him. Oh man, he's supposed to be replacing the back of the house and stuff and as he got the final siding and windows the cost ended up being about $80 an hour for two guys. One was a flunky and one did the work. That's a lot of money. We're like, we won't have any money left if we keep this up. Actually their work is pretty good, it's just a crazy price. They promised to get it done really quickly and it took a long time.

"The member actually contracted with R A Jones, Inc. for three separate work situations. The first was for insurance repairs. The member hired R A Jones, Inc. to negotiate the necessary repairs with the insurance company and perform them. After receiving the insurance payment, the member declined to have all of the work performed. The second contract was for repairs to the existing home. The member's signature on that contract confirms he agreed to pay Labor at $80. per man hour. The specifics of the job were itemized. As we performed this work, the member desired additional work to be performed. Three Change Orders for additional work were executed and signed by the member, each noting that additional work would increase the time required to complete the project. Simultaneously, the member entered into a third and separate contract with R A Jones, Inc. to design an addition to his home that would affect the area of the repairs we were making. The member and Robert Jones concurred that it would be most cost effective to leave a portion of the wall unfinished during the repairs and address it with the work on the addition. The member ultimately decided to have his sons come in from out of town to build the addition. All work contracted between R A Jones, Inc. and the member has been completed and paid for in full."

When I called the company to get an estimate, the secretary politely and efficiently made an appointment for Mr. Jones to come to my home to give me an estimate. He arrived on time and listened carefully to my requests. He gave me an estimate at that time, and because it seemed reasonable since I had researched the price of the Velux skylights, I hired him at that time. Mr. Jones gave me a copy of the work order and estimate. He had his secretary order the skylights, and she called me to schedule the installation when they arrived. His crew arrived on time, was courteous and pleasant, and installed the skylights and shades in about four hours. The crew cleaned up their work area and hauled the old materials away. The secretary called to find out if I was satisfied with the job and then I mailed my payment to the company office.

Overall the job went well. What I liked was the owner didn't use allowances for materials which resulted in an accurate quote. This forced us to visit showrooms and suppliers to pick out our materials at the start of the project in order to get the quote. It required front end work on our part, but the payoff was that we knew what we were getting and there were no surprises. The lead carpenter was extremely professional and ensured the work site was cleaned and there was no debris tracked through the house. I also liked the fact that the bathroom was gutted down to the studs at a reasonable price. This allowed the placement of 2x8s as blocks in areas where towel bars, hooks and mirrors would be placed. For anyone who has problems with sheetrock anchors coming loose this is a big plus. They also left pictures of the location of the 2x8s with dimensions for future placement of hand rails - should it be required in the future.

They gave us several references whom we got in touch with and all had no problems with them and the work we saw gave us excellent ideas for our own house. They began on time and said that it would be completed within six weeks. They were done within six weeks with the exception of one subcontractor (the shower door installer) who could not measure until other jobs had been completed. They were responsive to our needs and discussed options with us in detail and helped with working with the subcontractors. They were respectful of our time and space and worked very hard to clean up as they went along. The job superintendent could not have been better and responded immediately whenever we had a question or a concern, as did Robert Jones the owner.

The work went well, and all the subcontractors were very professional and polite. The project manager was on the job every day, and explained to us what to expect and when to expect it. The house and grounds were left very clean and neat. No complaints at all. We love our new windows and our new bathroom.

Very helpful with with creating design for remodel of both kitchen and bath. Went through several versions until we were comfortable with the design. The Foreman "Dave" was very courteous, prompt and professional. Overall, the crew was conscious to cleanup everyday leaving the work areas as clean as possible and to minimize the amount of dust and debris to the maximum. The biggest negative was with the cabinet subcontractor, who was tardy with delivery and some installation work. In the end, everything was made correct but it took time. Company seemed to be very customer service oriented. Not the cheapest contractor but I think we got excellent workmanship overall and would both use them again and recommend them.

A few days later the adjuster and RA Jones came to our house. We signed a contract and gave him a check, in the amount of our deductible, for work on the inside damage (walls, insulation, flooring, cabinets). In addition to the inside work (covered by insurance), we also asked him for a quote to replace our patio door that was leaking. We also mentioned up front that we would be getting several quotes for the roof (also not covered by insurance). Unfortunately, the adjuster was very difficult to contact and it took several weeks before we got a quote back from our insurance agency. When we did receive the quote, RA Jones was to provide our insurance agency with his quote and let them know of any discrepancies. At that point our insurance agency would either accept his quote or work out a compromise. But in the end, RA Jones never did provide an overall quote to the insurance agency (that we know of). In the end, he requested that we cancel our contract and that he would return our deductible. He basically said it wasn't worth his time. As far as the roof, we obtained 5 roof quotes and found his was the highest. We gave him two different offers that were the same as the 2nd and 3rd highest roof quotes (they were within $1 of each other) and several hundred under his quote. We wanted to give him the work, but he would not budge on his price. He even said that it was a discounted price because he expected the patio door work as well. We should mention that he had a sub-contractor (cabinet and floors) that came to our house to assist in that part of the quote, and he was great. Also, our deductible was returned minus the temporary roof work quickly after he cancelled our contract. I guess the lesson learned here is if you file an insurance claim, make sure you find a contractor that works with adjusters frequently and is willing to take the extra time and effort to help their customers during an already stressful time.

The company got us in contact with their best painter, Randy. He was initially hard to contact this was just after Tropical Storm Ernesto. Once we made contact he came out the next day for a job estimate. His crew showed up right on time to do the work. Randy was a little late arriving with the materials. The job was done in a very professional manner. The price seemed reasonable. Randy came by a week later and sealed our garage floor. It turned out very well.

They did a great job on my roof and it looks great. We get a lot of compliments on our roof, in fact we have referred them several times to people. They did a nice job of cleaning up after themselves. They also used a magnet to pick up all the nails. We were very pleased with the work that they did and I feel that their crew really knows their stuff.
