I contracted aluminum fence installation through Lowe’s on September 16. As finally write this review on December 29, my installation has yet to be completed. I have been waiting the past three weeks for a single corner post… My project is sitting about ¾ done. Along the way, there have been tons of empty promises and missed deadlines. We have had materials (including concrete) sit in our driveway (front of the house) for over seven consecutive weeks. Today, I was to receive the materials needed to finalize our installation. Yesterday, Lowe’s sent confirmation that the materials would be delivered by 12:30 EST. When no materials arrived, I called and was told that the delivery was “not on the truck’s manifest”… Lowe’s now claims that my remaining materials will be delivered January 2. Rightfully, I hold no trust in that. At no time along the way has Lowe’s contacted me regarding our project. Rather, I only get anything when I inquire about another missed deadline. In nearly four months, they have made no meaningful attempt to make this right. Not a single one. At this point all we want is what we have paid for. Again, this all started September 16, well over three months ago. If you need contracted services, I’d recommend either working directly with the contractor (which I wish I had) or trying Home Depot, with whom I have had much better past success.

Before moving into the home we purchased four years ago, we had all the old carpeting pulled out and replaced by new nylon carpeting purchased at Lowe's in Hampton VA. For a 2800 sq foot home they sent...one guy. One. It took him three days of working by himself, and nothing was power-stretched. Sure enough, after 12 months, everything was rippling like crazy, and sure enough, Lowe's said we were out of warranty. Over the course of the last four years, I can't count how many times I've had to have this carpet restretched. Every single room was poorly done. You could literally carpet a small room with the amount of carpet that's been subsequently stretched and cut away over these four years. I've conveyed my complete dissatisfaction to Lowes' management in Hampton, VA on two separate occasions, but they won't do anything for me. Why would they? I'm one of 50 million Lowes' customers, and if I've received terrible service...oh well. I've learned my lesson, and will go with the small local guys from now on, who depend on satisfied customers.

All I can say is never purchase a major item from this store unless you walk out with it in your hands.
Went to Lowes appliance manager - Allison - to purchase a Broan range hood. The item was on display but would take two weeks to order.  I had to settle for a cheaper model and paid.  I got suspicious about the two week delivery time so I checked with the vendor and found out that it only took 3 business days.  I called the store spoke to an assistant manager and told him the appliance manager had lied; cancelled the order for the cheaper model and ordered and paid for what I originally wanted.  The store called the next day after I complained to the Lowes 800 number for customer care and informed me the item was available and it was scheduled for installation 4 days later - I arranged to take off from work.  The day before the scheduled install, the installers called to confirm.  Everything was set.  I am sitting at home, on annual leave, when the appliance manager - Allison - calls and informs me she had made a mistake and there was no installation and they didn't have the item; have a nice day.  Obviously the phony installation appointment was her way of retaliating for complaining earlier.  I still don't have what I paid for and I'm not sure that Allison even bothered to order it.

I have reservation with Lowe's they do somethings well and the other things not so well it's mixed. When it came to installing a facet, the facet wasn't well done and I would give them a low rating for that, I wouldn't use them again to do my facets, they are fine for putting in toilets like I had them putting in toilets and the toilets were well done, I am still having problem with the facets.

Kim came out and took measurements of the kitchen. There was to be no major changes in layout other than the addition of one more cabinet upper and lower. I was told that I could get new cabinets for under 10K and there was a 1k discount and free sink thrown into the offer. When we went to review the layout and select the style we liked the cost for everything was close to 17k with average granite. This was way over our budget and so we did not proceed.

I also tried to have Lowes install new tile flooring in my kitchen and so the contractor came out and said that Lowes will not remove existing glued down vinyl flooring and the gentleman from Humps did not ever quote me a price but said for floor removal would run around 1500.

  • Had the sub contractor for granite counter top template my counter while my husband and brother were gutting kitchen. When it was installed they broke a piece but the real problem was that they put they installed it without me there with a very obvious seam in the middle of the counter top seen immediately walking thru the door, the installer did not color match the seam. which is over a 1/4 inch wide! When I contacted the subcontractor, the supervisor/ she had every excuse in the book for the poor installation. Sent a man to color match the seam and said this is what they could do. The color is better match, and the men that came seem experienced. I expected and quot;expert installationand quot; and to blame my husband and brother for the poor installation/template and not take the responsibility of their install team's poor work is just not right. Contacted Lowes...satisfaction and quot;guaranteedand quot;. Needless to say that was the and quot;fixand quot; and unless I get Lowes involved, which they were not really cooperative on my calls and have had no follow-up from them nor the contractor, I feel that I have no recourse unless legal or spending hours on the phone with the companies and replacing the counter top.. Where is their QA/QC of their subcontractors? I would have to have the stove, and the sink disconnected if new granite top is installed . I find that the template, and the actual installers were incompetent and not professionals and the subcontractor insulting and not willing to back their work...and Lowes uncooperative. I will NEVER use them again ....a lot of money and wait for a awful product that I feel that was not a professional job.
I will attach pictures...obvious that the job was and quot;botchedand quot; and the and quot;fixand quot; of hiding the wide seam that was put right in the middle of the work space is the best they can do for over 4,000 dollars

I went into Lowes and ordered a measurement of my front entry door system to be completely replaced. The guy came out on time and did his measurements and wrote down a description of the door. He was at my house for only 5-10 minutes. He left and said Lowes would be in contact regarding the estimate but Thurs ( Wed was a holiday). On Thurs evening I was called by Lowes and given an estimate of $585 in labor cost to replace the door but that didn't include the cost of the door. I was told I had to come in and describe the door and it had to be special ordered. I was put off. I had an expert come to my house to give me an estimate on getting the door replaced and yet I have to go into the store (I'm no expert) and describe this door so they can order it. Really?? He took down notes on the door and they should have called with the complete estimate and not just in labor. For a bit more, Mr. Handyman will do a detailed install (Not the basic Lowes sells) install a pan under the door in case the weather seal fails and pain the door inside and out.

We ordered the flooring in the store at the end of February 2012, and received pretty decent service. They matched a competitor's price, and assured us that even though the contract stated that they have 90 days from the date of purchase, most orders are fulfilled much sooner than that. We paid for the order in full, and was told by Lowe's to expect a phone call from Kraft Maid (the contractor) within a week. About 5 days later, we received a phone call from Kraft Maid and scheduled an appointment for them to come to our house to take measurements and complete the template the first week of April.
At the end of April, we kept trying to contact Kraft Maid and Lowe's to find out the status of our order. Lowe's had no idea, and the customer service at Kraft Maid was ridiculously bad. We would always get disconnected, messages would not get returned, etc. At the beginning of May, they called to say that they needed to come to our house to get our new sink. My husband asked them a few times if they actually needed to collect the sink, and they said, and quot;Yesand quot;. A few days later, a technician showed up and said that they only needed to take measurements of the sink in order for the granite to be cut.
Around the middle of May we began to question Kraft Maid if they were going to have the countertop installed by the 90 day time frame. Kraft Maid immediately scheduled a date for installation after that. On May 19th, the installers showed up to install the granite. They did a great job and the countertop looks fabulous. However, it was painful trying to get good customer service along the way. If I needed countertops in the future, I would probably go to a business that offered more personal service, because I don't think that the aggravation was worth the little bit of money saved.

They subcontract all the work out. We have had a kitchen remodeled and our whole house carpeted and now a garage opener and we found them all to be really good. Two guys came and did the carpeting and they also moved all the furniture to lay the carpeting. We only had to move the computers etc. I was surprised that only 2 guys could do that much so quickly. They did 7 rooms and a hall and two stairwells. It was all the same carpet and they did a great job. They did a good job on the garage door opener also and the kitchen remodel was good too. Lowe's is the store that I prefer to Home Depot. I will continue to use their services again.

They ordered the wrong windows and came and installed a couple of them. I found that they weren't the right windows when I got home. We had ordered triple-pane windows but they sent double-pane windows, and so we are waiting to see what kind of windows they will get and put in. My wife was here when they came to install the windows, and when I got home I told them that those were not the windows we ordered, and the salesman looked at his paperwork and agreed that he had ordered the wrong thing. The price was pretty good. They have put one window in but it is the wrong one, and they have kind of stuck the others in for the time being. The job is incomplete at present and we are expecting the right windows to come in and a good job to be done.

The customer service desk and returns desk are slow, but other than that, I find this store easy to maneuver. The staff here is very helpful, and the prices are great. They seem to be a bit lower than Home Depot on pricing.

They did a great job. After measuring for the door, they came out a separate time to install it. They worked two hours to get that door to fit exactly. Our door jam was crooked due to the condo settling, and they planned it to get the door to fit just right. They are very professional and kind.

They sub contracted the work out which was kind of unexpected, but they did a professional job. It took a lot of hard work because the door I ordered didn t fit the size of my old one. After a couple of hours he got the door installed and everything was working perfectly.

They did a fine job, and I was impressed with how well they installed the tile. It turned out perfect and looked great. We chose them because they had the color and style of tile we wanted. The service rep they sent out was very professional and helpful. They were a great company.

They did a nice job of removing our old carpeting. They installed high quality carpet and a nice padding. The men that installed my carpeting were very good. They did haul away our old carpet as a part of their service. I was very pleased with the results they gave me.

I bought the door from Lowes. They had a contractor come out to install it. They did an awful job and there were gaps in the door jam. The top section fell off the track and was hanging on by the hinges. I called Lowes, and the manager came out to look at their job. He told me they would not be using that contractor again. They haven't remedied the problem, so that didn't help me.

We purchased a new water heater from them and they scheduled the installation for the very next day. Their installer showed up as scheduled and did a very good job removing the old water heater and installing the new one. I was very comfortable having the installer in my home and satisfied with the quality of the work and the water heater. I have not had any problems with it.
