Job took two 7 hour days and labor was 1,600.00. So the job was done ok NOT exceptional but ok and for 16 hundred dollars I thought the quality should have been better. He seemed to be ok with subpar work. I guess the job was done ok but I paid way to much.
Response from James River Contracting
"The job description is a little vague here, so I'd like to comment on this review. Take down the existing storm door and front entry door. Remove crown molding from the wall above the door. Remove the base board from the wall on both sides of the door. Remove the sheetrock from around the drone door area to expose the 2 jack studs and the header support over the door. Remove the jack studs and 2 price header because they were completely destroyed from termite damage. Cut and install 2 new jack studs , rebuild and install a new header beam above the door. Install new Sheetrock around the front door area and finish with 3 coats of joint compound. Install the new front door. Re install the interior door trim , baseboard, and crown molding. The trim on the new door purchased by the homeowners did not match the house so I replaced it with pvc lifetime warranty trim on the outside for no charge. Install a new storm door. I picked up all of the materials and disposed of all of the old material for no charge. The cost of this project was $2000.00. I discounted the price $400 for the Stormleys. The final cost for the labor was $1600.00 and I did all of this in 14 hours ( not including door pick up and trash disposal) Your welcome."

Our house has 16" shutters which is not the standard today. Matt found a supplier for 16" shutters and matched the paint to our new front door. The work was delayed a bit due to constant rain. When he could do so he finished up and did a beautiful job. We are totally happy with the job.

Matt did a great job and he's very friendly and easy to work with. A plumbing repair had left me with two holes in my dining room ceiling. Matt repaired the drywall and painted the ceiling for me. You can't tell there was ever any holes there. Matt also went above and beyond and re-hung my dining room light fixture which was installed less than perfectly by the previous homeowner. He cleaned up so well that you couldn't tell he'd been there - except that the ceiling was fixed :)

The work was completed on the day scheduled. The finished project is not very high quality. There is a clear seam where the wall was patched by the provider. It cannot be repaired without being replaced and sanded down.

Contracted with Matt to repair moisture damage windows. Matt was thorough, fast, & detailed. He provided help with selecting/ordering replacement windows. Matched paint with current paint. Wrapped & sealed properly. Secondly, he repaired uncovered moisture damage (from faulty siding seal) under a front hall set window. He worked quickly to improvise & repair the damage. The more he worked, the more he uncovered. What I really like about Matt is his ability to quickly pinpoint the problem & to creatively finish tasks that usually require a more sophisticated problem solution. He is very creative & his finished work is very impressive.
