I brought my computer in, and it took a while but it had like 200 viruses on it. Apparently, it is about a dollar a virus, so it was about $200, but it is a computer of a few thousand dollars and it was definitely worth it for me. I call them on the phone and ask them a few questions and they actually answer it. I had called the last week and told them that I had a four-year old laptop and I had two gigs of ram and would it be worth putting it I there. He told me that it is still going to be slow. He didn't say that I need to come in and they would look at it. He didn't try to rip me up for business. They are reliable. They don't try to sell you something you don't need, which they really could do since I am really bad with electronic equipment. They have always been real good about showing me and giving me information on exactly what I am asking; not any more or any less.

For $69.00 got a piece of paper that didn't help a bit nor did they tell me that they refuse to write causation reports nor will they estimate the cost for repair. Do go to someone else. Don't go to Best Buy unless you just want to throw your money away if you're trying to file a homeowners claim (I have a computer floater associated with my policy).

"I spoke to the agent who helped him in the beginning. He informed him that we do not do insurance estimates but we could take it in and determine what was wrong with it and he would get a report as to what was malfunctioning. We did a diagnostic and actually determined that the motherboard and video card were falling. There is no way to determine what is causing these failures because there is no mechanism to determine that. We offered to send it out to get an estimate on how much it would be to repair it, again not an insurance estimate. We are not able to provide those due to corporate policy. He refused and the computer was returned to him with the report as to what failed in our diagnostic tests. I have reviewed the situation thoroughly and determined that we have done nothing to mislead or defraud him. M D- Sales Operator"

The technicians at Best Buy are the most experienced in this region. That is one of the reasons we purchased it there. We thought it may be very costly if it was a virus problem, but it wasn't. The repair only took two days, and when we picked it up, the problem was explained. We were also instructed on how to avoid this occurrence in the future.
