Eand R Exterminating specializes in bed bugs and is the only company in our area that offers heat treatment. Owner Tony Roddey came the day after we discovered the bugs and did a comprehensive inspection of our entire house. He was professional, knowledgeable and understanding about the trauma we were going through. Unlike the other company we consulted, which said we had to treat the entire house--twice--with strong pesticides and essentially move out (with our cat), Tony determined that the problem was in one room upstairs. He proposed to heat treat that room and use chemicals throughout the second floor as a preventive, and answered all of my questions about the effect of heat on various things in the room (such as books). The other company only gave a 30-day warranty. Eand R guarantees their work for six months.
To give us some peace of mind until the treatment, I went to their office to pick up and quot;defendersand quot; for all of our beds. Cathy in the office gave us comprehensive directions about what we had to do to prepare. On the day of the treatment, Tony and Brian arrived exactly on time and explained in detail what they were going to do. They plugged their big heater into our kitchen stove outlet and ran a huge cord up to the bedroom, then heated the bedroom to 130-150 degrees for several hours, monitoring the temperature remotely from our garage. They were here from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We and our cat didn't have to leave the house, we just had to stay on the first floor. It took several hours for the room to cool down after they left, but we could have slept in the room that night. They put bug-proof cases on the mattress and box spring. We chose to sleep in a different room until after Eand R performed their one-week inspection.
We moved back into the room the day after the inspection, and my husband was bitten that night. We hoped it was something else, but last night he was bitten again. We called Eand R first thing this morning and Tony was here within three hours. He was very concerned, and reiterated his six-month guarantee, saying even one bug is one too many. We discussed the possible sources and solutions, and decided that a bug might have survived in the folds of an electric blanket. Tony treated the bed frame, mattress and box spring again, and we quarantined the blanket and washed and hot-dried all the linens. If we are bitten again, Tony said he will make a CO2 trap; and if necessary, he will do the heat treatment again.
I wanted to write this review now, even before we are certain that the problem is solved, because we are convinced that heat treatment is the way to go, and Eand R has been responsive, capable, caring and dedicated. We are confident that Eand R Exterminating will do whatever is needed to combat these stubborn pests.

Have treated our house for several years. They are always prompt, professional, friendly. Always a good experience. Price seems comparable to other companies in the area.

We are very pleased with them, they've been my pest control company for several homes now. They're conscious of using effective chemicals that are the least damaging to the environment. I trust E and R to be honest about the treatment I need as well. Most years they send the same inspector and he crawls under the house and looks for moisture damage as well as termites. He also goes around the outside and he found some moisture damage at the back door once; he told us about it so we would know and be able to correct the problem. The inspector who comes each year is very friendly and quite knowledgeable. We are very pleased with E and R.

They are very good and send me a letter every year and call me before they come out. They explain everything to me and do wonderful work. I am very happy with them. We have used them for eleven years.

The house that I bought was empty for a while and we noticed many spiders. The pest control guy told me that the spray that they used would kill the food source as well as the spiders when he initially came out. The spiders have reduced, but now I have noticed a lot of ants. It should have been eliminated based on what he described. He used three different products to get rid of some ants. I noticed a lot of ants about two days after his last visit. So I don’t know as to how successful it was. They were on time. They came out and sprayed and were professional too. However, the result of the work wasn’t necessarily as promised. They did manage to reduce the spiders, but it didn’t really work when it came to getting rid of the other pests. I wouldn’t be able to comment on their price since I didn’t shop around too much and wanted somebody who was local. I haven’t contacted them to come back and fix the problem. I didn’t want to be too harsh and I didn’t have time to make appointments. There were huge carpenter ants that got inside my house and were also there by the front sidewalk. It also rained on both the days when the pest control guy was here. I wouldn’t hire them again.

We had a really bad storm a couple of weeks after they had done the inspection and the preventive work in our crawl space opened up even though they had done the preventive work. So I got a little upset and gave them a call to come over and check that for us. So the owner himself did the second check up and fixed the crawl space right away. When it was time to do the summer preventive check up work, they called us because we had completely forgotten about it. They came in and did a thorough check up where they went through every inch of the house.

They come out once a year to inspect for termites and spray around the inside of the house, outside of the house and under the house. They treated the house years ago for a termite problem and we have had a yearly contract ever since. They were very professional and knowledgeable. We have not had any termite problem since starting their service.
