KRISTIN C.
Oct 2006
It went pretty well. The house was built in 1964 and had wall to wall carpet. We removed the carpets, tack strips, and staples ourselves. The amount to be refinished was approximately 1800 square feet and included the steps. The work was done starting on a Tuesday and ending on a Friday. The only problem was that in some spots the finish is a little gritty to the touch, mainly in the corners. I believe it is because they did not clean well enough between coats. Mr. Cooke came over anytime we asked to check on the work and he agreed that those spots could have been better. We were just moving in and did not want our whole house filled with sawdust again, so we decided it was not a big deal. We left our floors natural with no stain, the charge is $1.85 per square foot- you will not find a better deal anywhere. The floors look gorgeous and are a light golden oak finish, with semi-gloss polyurethane on them.
