Run away from USA Pipe Repair. They DO NOT follow DPOR regulations that govern their profession. Their work DOES NOT comply with the Virginia Plumbing Code. They DO NOT obtain required plumbing permits. They DO however treat their customers with total dishonesty and disrespect.
Response from USA Pipe Repair

"Mr. [Member Name Removed] we provided proof from the permit and inspections office that a permit and inspections were not required for the repair. Also DPOR and locality permit and inspections are two different offices who handle different aspects of our business, we are in compliance with DPOR and the permitting office for your job."

Dell was extremely professional. He arrived when he said he would. And when the faucet I had purchased turned out not to be the right type for the sink, he was flexible and went out and got one. There was also a surprise with the pedestal sink needing longer supply lines - and he took care of that, too. Solid work, fair pricing, great experience!

My first experience with USA Pipe Repair was a good one. They were able to get a really deep clog that another plumber wasn’t able to get and they gave us some great tips on how to keep our system from clogging again. I liked them enough that I called them again when we had another plumbing need. We were finishing our basement, so needed all the pipes to be moved above the joists so we could install a drywall ceiling. We also had some concerns about our very old copper pipes, so wanted everything that would be covered by drywall to be replaced. Also, there was a very small leak in one of these copper pipes. The technician was able to give me an estimate right away and was even able to do part of the job that day--fixing the leaky pipe by actually rerouting it and bypassing the whole section. We then made an appointment for him to do the rest of the work the following week. When he finished the rerouting, I pointed out to him that the discarded pipe was below the level of the joists and would need to be removed. He said he would do that next time he came. The next week, he came very late, to the point I thought he’d forgotten. But he showed up eventually and was in a very big hurry. I also noticed he left multiple times. I assumed he was getting lunch or had to buy a part or something, but later he told me he was stepping out to go to other appointments. When he was done, he knocked on our front door (he’d been using the basement’s separate entry to go in and out) and asked for payment, without even showing me the work he’d done. I asked him to show me what he’d done first. We went down to the basement and I saw that there were two pipes below the joists. One, he said he couldn’t do anything about because it was going through cinder block. The second was the pipe I had reminded him to remove the first time. I was disappointed he couldn’t reroute the pipe going through the cinderblock, and was surprised he didn’t let me know until I pointed it out. But what killed me was the pipe I’d already reminded him to remove the week before! You could tell he was in a hurry and just itching to get out of there. He told me that I’d gotten a steal of a deal on the work he’d already done and that we could just cut the pipe off with a sawzall and cap it off ourselves. My husband was not happy about that when he came home that day--his sawzall was broken and he didn’t want to figure out how to cap off a pipe. That’s why we were paying a plumber! He got even more upset when he looked under the sink and realized that the pipe the guy was supposed to cut out and cap off was covered by a plastic baggy. So the only thing between us and toxic sewage gas was a plastic baggy! I called the next day and they sent the same guy out again to finish the job. He charged me an additional $50. In his defense, at the beginning of the second visit, I did ask him to cap the pipe off at a different point, so this might have made the job harder? When he charged me the $50, he mentioned this change. It still felt like I was being charged for a job I’d already paid for. A couple of weeks later, we realized that before drywalling, we wanted to run a waterline up to where our fridge is, with the assumption that at some point we’d purchase a fridge with an icemaker. After our previous experience, I was not interested in calling USA Pipe Repair again, so I called another plumber. He came out and while looking at pipes in the basement to price out the job for us, noticed a host of issues from the job that USA Pipe repair did. Some were minor, like the pipe coming from the garbage disposal is too small, and might now clog more easily. And the way they ran our pipes was incorrect and would reduce our water pressure. One in particular was very concerning to him and he suggested I call the company back who did the work and have them fix it correctly. He said that it might not cause problems right away, but the way they put the ring around the pipe fitting to hold the pipe onto the fitting was not right and years down the road the pipe might come loose and we would have some major leaks. He also said that when they come back to fix it, make sure they cut out the problem areas, because plastic pipe can’t be recrimped. He also specifically said that the job they did would not pass an inspection. When I went to call USA Pipe Repair, I made the mistake of calling the number on an old business card I had instead of the office. I reached the Service Manager. He gave me the office number, but also asked what the problem was. I explained what the other plumber had said and my concern about leaks in the future and asked that someone come out and redo the problem areas. This is not the technician who did the job, so he didn’t even know what the job looked like. He did not diffuse the situation or try to make it right. He spit out his words. He was upset that I would dare to call about something that wasn’t currently leaking, even though I explained that we were concerned about future issues because the job was not done correctly and we were going to be drywalling our basement and covering everything up. He said there was no standard for how to crimp fittings and that the band could be anywhere on the fitting, even hanging off the end. No standard. I’m no plumber, but that doesn’t seem right to me that there would be no standard for something like that. He then had me tell him who the plumber was that told on them and that he was going to call up his boss. I will admit, I was not expecting an exchange like that and got a bit heated myself. I’m used to managers who have the skills to diffuse a situation instead of escalating it. I assumed they would try to appease me or ease my mind about the way they crimped the joints. Instead I just got anger that they were called out. It ended with him to telling me to go ahead and call the office. It sounded like a dare. I did not accept his dare and did not call the office--I wasn’t interested in having to watch them like a hawk to see if they’d do the job right the second time. I ended up having the second plumber (who was doing the waterline to the fridge) fix the joints and a couple of other issues. He felt sorry for me having to pay twice for the same job and definitely undercharged me. To be completely honest, I don’t know much about plumbing. Maybe they are right and there is no standard for how to crimp a fitting. But one thing I do know is that I would prefer a plumbing company that did things the best way, even if there isn’t a specific standard and a company that takes the time to do the complete job, not just most of it.

USA Pipe Repair responded quickly and arrived within the window they gave me. The workman was very friendly and helped me diagnose the problem. He was able to clean about 60' of my sewer line with a motorized mechanical drain cleaner but determined the issue was on the County's side. The County came out later that day and cleaned their part of the pipe. It turns out there was another clog on my side, but further than he was able to reach from the cleanout in the front yard. I was able to address this issue from from crawlspace. I was very happy with the service provided and would definitely use USA Pipe Repair again.

Cody was very polite and professional. He took care of the blockage in less than an hour. I had scheduled other plumbers before him and they were unable to resolve the issue. If I ever need a plumber for any issue I will be calling him.

The plumbing team that came to our home was professional however both of the team members forgot to clean up some of the old supplies and left them behind. They weren't able to fix my old shower faucet by replacing the cartridge so they gave us the option of keeping the faucet as is and allowing it to continue to drip/leak or for them to replace the faucet entirely, cut a hole in our wall and install a new one. So we opted to have them install the new faucet which they did a great job of installing except for the clean up part. I'm kind of on the fence with hiring them again, but I may do so in the future.

They responding with astonishing speed on a Saturday! I had a huge mess! He was super friendly, prepared with all sorts of equipment, and explained things in a way I could understand. He walked me through my options with no pressure whatsoever. As he was making the repair, he took care not to dirty/scratch anything in the rest of the house. The price was reasonable, the problem was solved, and the recommendations were made for the future. I am so happy to support this business!

I was very pleased with this experience. I called this company based on reviews here. I scheduled an appt for a price to replace kitchen sink and clear clogged drain. My home was built in 1952-here for 13 years. I’ve been waiting for the “other shoe to drop” on a plumbing problem. Not unexpected. By the time Sean & his team member arrived I told him I was rethinking replacement to repair instead. Sean rolled with that no problem, gave me a price, was available to repair on site & went to get parts immediately. He actually had to do that twice due to my bath faucet falling apart. Installation was quick, efficient. Clog was years of whatever building up in an old metal pipe. Sean explained have to cut clogged pipe out, replace with larger PVC. Like I said, not unexpected. Sean explained the cost of that work & that they could return next day to do work.. I included price in this review. I felt for all the services, the price was very reasonable and I felt that the company was doing it’s best to keep my cost down. They came back next day and did the re-piping. The job is very clean looking and they re-worked the drain too. My guarantee was printed on my bill. I very much appreciated this company doing what they said, when they said they would, and for the price they quoted. As a homeowner, I have given donations to other companies. Frustrating and irritating.. I would hire USA Pipe Repair again! (Writing this late at night I hope no auto correct shenanigans) (I didn’t want to post my address so I listed as Unknown)

Not only did Cody and his team do an efficient, highly professional job, they provided an important service at a very reasonable price. They arrived at our house on schedule, and they protected our flooring with heavy cloth tarps before the work was started. Not only did they do a great job, they left the house neater than it was when they arrived! I wish every service contractor would have the same work ethic as USA Pipe Repair! A job well done!

went well until work was completed and my front yard has a huge dip in it where they dug to lay pipe......i spoke with cody and he told me he would fill in, I waited and nothing happened, called again and he tells me he is not responsible. NOT ANY WAY TO DO BUSINESS. also used some type of netting to put over grass seed and it is VERY DANGEROUS, My family has tripped numerous times on this almost resulting in injury.
Response from USA Pipe Repair

"First three years later and no issues with plumbing whatsoever. to start this woman is a renter who lives in a house we worked on. Settling is a natural occurrence after excavation, which is why there is a settling clause listed on the invoice. The settling clause is there to inform the customer that this is something that could happen, and that we can return with soil to level. But there willbe a fee for the soil, not for time or labor only the soil. Also the netting is part of straw role which was used to help re-grow grass where the excavation was done. I believe that if the issues were truly that concerning you would have reached out in 2015 when the job was completed, Instead you opted to contact us 3 years later. Then threaten with bad review if we don’t work for free."

Shaun did an excellent job. We had had numerous leaks being on a well with copper fittings and illegal qwest pipping (2 of which were major). We had our final leak that pushed us over the edge. We called Shaun on a Saturday to see if he could come out and do a temporary fix until we could do the re-piping. He was able to get out in 20 mins and fix the leak without charging us very much. We scheduled the re-pipe for that following Wednesday. He came out Wednesday with one other guy and they were able to get it all done in one day! They worked until it was done. My other estimates said it would take at least 2 days minimum. I got all new connections to my faucets and toilets and a new holding tank under the house. It was re-piped with PEX. The next day we did have one small issue when we got home from work that evening we called Shaun and he was there in 20 mins to fix it. I highly recommended Shaun at USA Pipe.

My tenant notified me that there was some kind of leak leading to the toilet. I left a msg for USA, hoping but not expecting someone to call me back on a Sunday. About two hours later a gentleman called me back. During the course of the conversation, it came out that he was calling from out of town. Now that is a great response! He gave me the number to the office and said to leave her a msg. Again not expecting anything on a Sunday, she called me back in a little while. The only little hiccup, the guy they scheduled lived in ruther glen, but they had him down in Richmond back and forth instead of scheduling me at the end of the day. I didn’t care, just work it out with my tenant. That got worked out eventually. He did make up for it by checking the house over and discovered a spicket problem, which he could come back and fix the next day. NP. I paid for it, very reasonable for all of it, and the tenant was happy. If the tenant is happy, I’m very happy. Would definitely use again. Also they gave me an over-the-phone for approximate cost. I had called one of the other big companies and the guy got snippy when I asked for an approx cost.

USA Pipe Repair found and fixed my frozen pipe leak. I was so happy after being without water for ten days. Called other plumbers and they didn’t have a clue on how to find and fix my leak. Shawn was professional and knowledgeable, he knew what he had to do to get my water running again. I would definitely use USA Pipe Repair again and recommend them highly.

They answered my call at 7AM and I was fortunate enough to have a technician at my home by 9AM. The inside tech, Sean, was sure to use boot covers and informed me of the price of each step for approval before acting. In my case we worked up troubleshooting from initial drain clearing to exterior pipe repair as the actual root issue was discovered. Again I was fortunate to have the ground crew arrive on the same day and complete the repair of about 15' of buried pipe. They even pulled out a slew of roots from the septic tank which was not pleasant and they did not ask for any charge. Good crews that were able to pleasantly deal with an "over-the-shoulder" homeowner for the project. They were genuinely focused on completing the project that evening and we had service restored by the end of the day.

The first service man did not complete the job, but told his boss he had. The owner came out and saw that the job had not been completed. He accepted full responsibility for the problem and completed the job to my satisfaction.
Response from USA Pipe Repair

"my technician completed the work correctly. He was instructed by the homeowner to do the bare minimum due to cost. when I was called back 6 months later I inform the homeowner again that he still did have an issue in the yard that he was informed about before. he asked that we only fix the section of pipe with no bottom and Jet the sewer to get everything draining. we did it worked for 6 months we then gave a price of cost to help by fixing other issues. my technician did nothing wrong the first time he followed simple instructions and that was to do the bare minimum. I picked up where he stopped and replaced everything outside of the house because it was broken and riddled with roots."
