Response from Tori's K9 Adventures
"We understand that everyone has individual opinions and that we can not fully satisfy each and every client. However, we are a very clean facility and it was addressed when you made your reservation with us we were nervous about watching your dog because you made it very clear your dog not only had never boarded before but had never left your home. You stated your yorkie had never left the house and was even pee ped trained so didnt even go outside. As professionals it made us unsettled that your dog had absolutely no immunities built up from living it's entire life confined to inside a home and from your description to us would be very nervous and stressed which also can cause a dogs immune system to fall. Several things you have stated are not accurate and we have documents to prove it. First, your dog did not board with us the end of sepetember it was beg/mid August of 2013 and you contacted us over a week after the dog had left our care stating your dog was sick and, you received a groom, but were not happy with the groom. We apologized and asked to keep us updated on how she was doing and we would be happy to refund your groom to you. Over a week after we had spoke you finally returned to our facility, got a FULL refund on your groom, and stated the dog was doing just fine. Also, at no time was anything ever mentioned about your dog almost dying. Your service with us was not far from a year ago, you got a full refund on a groom that you did receive but said you were not happy with, and both times we spoke after the dog had left nothing was mentioned about her being so sick she almost died. As we stated from the beginning we were nervous initially about your dog staying with us due to the information you provided but you were recommended by your vet so we allowed her to stay. I'm certain the stress of her being boarded for the first time ever is what caused her intestinal infection and is not something we can prevent even though we are set up and do everything possible to keep everyone stress free. Given we have a smaller occupancy, are very clean, and quiet for a boarding facility; I would not recommend boarding your dog anywhere again if she was that stressed she made herself that sick. And again as far as your groom; you never once stated you never received one but that you were not happy with it and you were issued a full refund. Also just to add, your stay was 4 nights not 3, your total was $152 not $175, you were only charged $32 for your groom and we eneded up offering you $60 back for your troubles and you came in over a week later and we put it back on your credit card."

very professional staff. each time they call, they are very nice and professional. they called the vet to verify vaccines, etc. this was pretty cool since our healthcare PCPs don't do this :-)! Would take my puppy there if we lived closer. currently its a 30 min drive from Short Pump.

My vet recommended Tori's K-9 Adventure when I mentioned living in an area with few dogs and not having opportunity to work on socialization skills.

I followed up on the recommendation and couldn't be more pleased. My puppy, Rags, was evaluated and now attends "puppy day care" three times a week. He is losing his shyness around dogs (and people) and doesn't hesitate to join in group romps. His basic training at home is reinforced at "camp" and, overall, it's a wonderful experience for him. A big plus is being able to drop him off without notice for as little or much time as I like.

The staff could not be more courteous, accommodating or friendly.

I plan to keep Rags in the program over the winter to continue his social training while providing a playful environment.

My dog returned with kennel cough, and Tori's did not mention it. Had I known, I could have taken him to the vet immediately, instead of on Monday when I realized that's what he had on Friday evening. I didn't recognize it because he has never had kennel cough before. I don't know how they would not have known after keeping him for days.
Also, I'm not sure if he was treated very well while he was there. He bit my fiance (his owner for 10 years) the night he came home.
They were supposed to bathe him, but they did not. Too bad, because he came home reeking of cigarettes, so I had to give him a bath, but his brand new bed smells like cigarettes now.
We will not be taking him back to Tori's.

"The things stated on this review are false and I will be taking further action regarding this. Your dog was treated with the upmost care and how dare you try and say your dog was mistreated!! That is extremely offensive and as the owner and operator I am here everyday almost all day and see everything going on. Not to mention the 10 cameras we have that are on a viewable flat screen at my house at all times when I am not here! We spent several hours that you were not even charged for working with your dog with others because he had little to no social skills and this was explained to you during your evaluation. And as you were told on the phone, your dog did not show any signs of sickness while in our care. I can not say for sure he did not catch anything here, even as clean as we are we can not prevent everything and some things do not show up until days after. So again, your dog was not sick while in our care. It is like taking your child to daycare. We have care sheets for each dog that are filed out for how much breakfast was ate, how much water was drank overnight, behavior, how much dinner was ate, and how clean they kept there room overnight. As I stated on one of the two messages left, we have this sheet on file and you were more then welcome to come check it out. Also, your dog DID receive a bath but your pick up day and time was changed two separate times so your dog ended up staying an additional few days after his bath. I personally did this, so I know it was done and done well because I spent a long time on his extremely long and uncomfortable toenails. I am not sure how you can say your dog smelled like smoke when we only have two people in this entire facility who smoke and no one smokes anywhere even close to the dogs. We have a designated area for this. Not to mention when I was trying to get the story straight about the dog being ill the husband lied to me about them already taking the dog to the vet and spending over $400 because I personally drove to the vet to speak with him face to face. I'm not sure what is the true issue here but it is and was not us. Everyone in this building goes above and beyond for every dog in this building which is why we even have previous staff members who still use our services. I feel this is ridiculous, we are number one recommended by three vets offices, and these owners have refused to return my calls after the first conversation where the husband yelled and swore at two staff members. I feel sorry for any other facility who ends up boarding this dog due to the owners in the future."

The service is very personalized and they know my dogs and what they need. My dogs are very happy there and they help with training advice. My dogs can play when they are there and there are pools; it is fantastic.
