I found them to be expensive and not particularly cheap. They came out one time to do some stuff then they kept coming out every six months even though I did not want them to. They were charging me money every time. I just thought they were expensive. They were professional; it is just that they are such a big company they are getting complacent. I think they were about $90 each time. The issue was I thought they were overpriced and I don't think they had a really good interpersonal relationship with us. They were on time when they decided to come.
Terminix scheduled an initial inspection of the house promptly and determined there were bugs and provided an estimate for the cost of extermination. I signed the contract electronically and was able to schedule the extermination online. Up to this point everything seemed to be great. The first problem was when I got a call from the person who would be doing the extermination and he wanted to schedule the appointment; I told him I had already scheduled it online when I signed the contract and he said he would see if he could make that work. He called back and said it would work, but I needed to put a credit card on the account. The day of the extermination he insisted that the renter give him a check as payment even though I had already given a credit card and my name was on the contract (I was not present at the time). Two days later the renter informed me that they had found more bugs. My contract provides additional exterminations up to 90 days so I called to schedule a follow up. This is where the real problems started. All of the numbers for Terminix go to a call center when you call, but the call center does not have the ability to schedule an appointment. They always just tell you someone will call you back in a couple of days. I waited a couple of days and didn't get a call so I continued to call back. Eventually they just told me I had an appointment on Tuesday at 1. I work and did not schedule this time, but to make it work I said they could call me when they were on the way and I would meet them at the house. They did not call me and just left a sticky note on the door saying they were there. I attempted to reschedule again going through the same routine. Again they scheduled an appointment without telling me and I just found out by calling Monday morning and being told I had an appointment for now. Luckily my renter was home this time. In summary do not use Terminix because their scheduling system is terrible and it is impossible to speak to someone that can schedule an appointment.

Their service was okay. I have to call them back, though, because the ants are back. They come out quarterly and I get billed quarterly. Then if I call them out again any other time there is no charge. When they come out on the quarterly calls they spray all around the foundation and they check for any other kind of insects that might be a problem around the foundation. The people are very nice, that's probably the best thing. The worst thing is the cost. I have had to call them because they have doubled their termite inspection cost. I have had to call them for the last couple of years to get them to knock it down -- and they do.
