This was probably the third time we had hired Ron Roberts to do interior or exterior painting. Previously we had no problems, but this time we did. We mistakenly paid him the full amount as the crew was finishing up the job. Once they were gone we noticed that places which should have been painted were not. Also, despite his reassurances that they would remove and reinstall the light fixtures as they worked, they did not, leaving paint on the fixtures. They also left one shutter on the front of the house unattached at the top (the top of the shutter was leaning out and away from the siding). Finally, some of the damaged/rotten trim that was supposed to be repaired was simply painted over instead. Ron was not responsive to phone messages or the two letters I sent him. Lesson learned: ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS hold back a large enough sum that the contractor will be motivated to return for the finish work and the final payment.

After we signed the contract, it took him a few months to get here, because of his outstanding work. I just don t like waiting so long. He brought eight workers with him and they did an excellent job. They were quick and got it done in two days. The workers were well trained and my neighbors recommended them.
