Owner gave preliminary estimate of solar potential from Google Earth then came out for a closer look and returned a few options for location with estimated power yield for each.  Very nice and low-key, not pushy at all; if anything I had to do the convincing that I wanted to go through with it despite partial shading of the site.  Took several weeks to arrange everything but once they started it was up in a day.  They handled everything including all permits and interactions with Dominion Power. Came to just over $4 a watt, which might be a little on the high side, but these are premium systems with US-made panels, a microinverter on each panel, and real-time internet-based monitoring.  I needed microinverters because of the shade and when I heard US panels, I didn't really shop around.  At least four times he came to the site, usually on a Saturday, which was very convenient.  System is now functioning perfectly and yield of solar power looks like it will be accurate to within a few percent of their prediction.
