Initial water heater replacement happened 5 years ago, and went fine. However, given our water heater feeds into our heating system, evidently pressure builds up in the water heater more than usual, and lead to a failure after just 5 years. A simple pressure tank would have prevented my latest issue, but since it "wasn't required by code" then, and I wasn't told that it would be a good idea, one was not installed. So, fast forward to 5 years later, and though the tank itself was covered, they charged me over $1000 to replace it. They were only hear for 4 hours, so we're talking about $250/hour, and that is outrageously overpriced. I appreciate that they added an pressure relief tank this time (it's code now, so I'm not sure they had a choice), but I still believe the tank would not have needed to be replaced if they'd gone above "what code requires" in the first place. Going to the minimum and not beyond is not what I'm looking for in service, so I will be looking for someone who goes above and beyond next time.

We didn't know where the shut off valve was located for the refrigerator so called Mr. Rooter Plumbing. Tony (Van) Vandermark came over and spent 30 minutes exploring the crawl space beneath the house. He finally discovered that it had been installed beneath the kitchen sink when the house was built. We would call Mr. Rooter Plumbing again for any plumbing issues and ask for Van. Great Job!

I called on 5/23/18 and setup an appointment for the next day to have a tech come out and take a look at my property and give me options to resolve the water drainage issue I had in my backyard that was causing my house to flood. The appointment was set for the next day 5/24/18. The tech (Mark) showed up at the appointed time, we discussed my options and he measured the property. He told me the Tish in the main office would take the information and put together the quote, which I would receive by email. On 5/31/18 I called the office because I had not received the quote. I was told by the lady that answered that Tish was finalizing the quote and I would receive it by the end of the next day 6/1/18. As of today I still have not received the quote, and I have heard nothing from anybody at Mr. Rooter.

The first time the tech came it was raining very hard so he was unable to to work on the issue. The second time he came with the equipment needed to blow out the drain, but the equipment was not functioning. The third time he was able to blow out the drains but neglected to reattach one of the downspouts (I just happened to notice the downspout and connected it myself). We had a very heavy rain after the work was completed and the drain functioned well. I called the office to highlight the inattention to detail by their crew, but never received a call back with an apology. I was also disappointed on the lack of follow through regarding a price quote to solve the pitch problem the tech had discussed with me. I believe in giving people a second chance, so I would hire them again.

Paul gave us a "worst case scenario" estimate, explaining what he knew had to be done and what was contingent upon discovery once he got into the job. The actual cost was almost $200 less. He showed us how to keep our drains clear (no more Draino!!). And he kindly answered my husband's 1,000 questions and was quite respectful about my husband's DIY errors. He forgot to leave the product we are to use in our drains once a month. I called the office, and they said they'd have it out to us in the morning. But Paul brought it out himself that night. We will call him again!

Mr Rooter was punctual and efficient. They were courteous and explained everything that they did. Their prices seemed very fair, although i admit, i did not do comparison shopping for replacing the sewer line from the house to the septic tank. We needed the work done quickly and professionally and we were very pleased.

Everyone we dealt with from Mr. Rooter was very nice and professional, from the office scheduler to the plumber.  We even had to call them back out to adjust one of the toilets and they came promptly, no questions asked.  I would definitely use them again.

The installation comes with a one year warranty, and the frost free hose bibbs don't freeze as long as the proper precautions are taken once freezing weather heads our way! Remember to disconnect all hoses from the hose bibbs. A few other helpful hints to prevent freezing piping in other areas of the house are to ensure the crawl space doors/access are closed as well as the vents in the crawl space are also shut. All told, the work that was done should have taken 30 minutes but I was charged for 3 hours.  Most of the time, the technician was his truck seemed to be staring at the work to be done.  Was told he could not fix 1/2 of the things he was sent to do - seemed to me because he didn't know how.  I have used Mr. Rooter once before and that technician was great - this one was not.  He took the handles off the tub faucets and tightened a screw but did not replace the handles.  He pulled "FOG" out of the bathroom sink and left it there - did not clean it up.  He broke the hex nut cover on the kitchen faucet while replacing a washer.  Extremely displeased with the quality of work and the cost.

What I thought was a simple problem, turned into a pretty complex one pretty quickly.  After another plumber refused to do the work because it was "too complicated" when i was describing it over the phone, i called Mr Rooter Richmond, and they were up to the task.
A foot on the back side of the clawfoot tub (against a wall, on the side of the tub with the plumbing) was sheered off, making the tub extremely unstable (a tub rocking back and forth while you're in the shower is really a stomach turner), and risked damaging the tile floor, and the walls next to the tub. 
 In order to fix the foot that sheered off of the clawfoot tub (the people that flipped my home used bolts that were not great for the weight of the tub) the tub had to be removed from the existing plumbing, turned over and all of the feet on the tub were inspected and repaired, including extensive work to the one  bad foot.  All of the tub feet were repaired, and the tub was reinstalled back with plumbing, and new hot and cold water shut offs on the tub
I was consulted numerous times about the price- $650 because of the complications on the tub, but agreed that it was better to ensure the safety and soundness of the tub than worry about the price too much. The technicians did great work, scheduled quickly, and did the work quickly and neatly. They explained every part of the process, and even though i was spending much more money than i originally thought i would for a "simple" broken foot, at the end of the day i was grateful to not have anyone break their necks on account of my wobbly tub, and the work they did was very good. This is now the 4th time that this company has done work in my home, and each time i have been satisfied. They are a reliable company, with good workers and stay true to their promises in regards to pricing and scheduling. 
I would absolutely recommend this company.

They charged $325 to tighten the screws on my toilet. He did tell he that before he did any services they charge a minimum of $325. At this point, what option did I really have? He's in my bathroom, I've already shown him what's wrong. He told me that the sewage smell should stop but that he could not say anything about the damage and mold that may be in my walls.

By our records, the technician pulled the toilet and found that the toilet was not secured to the flange and the flange was not secured to the floor. The technician repaired the flange and secured the flange to the floor. He then reset the toilet with a new wax seal and ensured that the toilet was secured to the flange. The technician also installed a FluidMaster fill valve in the same toilet at no charge. The technician tested to ensure the toilet was functioning properly and no longer leaking. There is no charge for the technician to give an estimate, but if he has to do work (i.e.: pull the toilet) to find the cause of the problem, there is a diagnostic charge. Once the problem is found and the work is agreed upon, tenth diagnostic fee is waived and the price of the job is by the work that has to be done. We didn't receive any indication that you were unhappy with the work that was performed in 2014 until the review was posted at the end of July 2015.
