HUMPHREY ELECTRIC CO INC

An Electrician and a Helper arrived late. Both men tracked dirt/mud from their shoes into my house and onto the carpet. The repair took about 10 minutes. Humphrey Electric billed me $175. I called to complain about the bill and was told that they have a minimum billing (which I was not told about when I phoned to make the appointment). I wrote a letter to the President of Humphrey Electric to further my complaint. He did not bother to respond. Really poor customer service.

I had a lousy experience with this local contractor. They installed a fixture, but it didn't function, and they left the site before notifying me. They claim to have made a return visit in my absence but did not get the light working. They promised a third visit but never followed-through. Finally, I took a day off from work and begged for a quick trouble-shooting call to check the wiring to the fixture. They never came, ''too busy with other jobs.''

We are extremely happy. The fellow that owns it (Dick Humphrey) is a super nice guy.

They had a flat fee of $90 for the house call and an hourly rate based on the length of the job. They let me know that upfront and they stuck to their estimate. My breaker kept popping the fuse and the guy from Humphrey's got it fixed in about 15 minutes, so there were no additional charges to me.
