Kevin diagnosed the reason my heat pump was not keeping the house cool. It turned out to be a need for coolant, which means that I do have a leak somewhere. Rather than trying to talk me into spending a lot of money tracing the leak, he suggested I just recharge the system since the leak seems to be very slow. That way, I can just recharge it every few years instead of spending perhaps thousands finding and repairing the leak.
