Custom House Cleaning

I like them very much.  There are people that I've had, which is only two.  They're very personable, and they do a good job!  They're a little pricey, but they do a good job!  They're basically not professionals, but they are people who are doing interim jobs.

The business calls themselves Custom House Cleaning, but they are listed here as Custom Janitorial & Restoration. The owner said their service was different because they take care of all the extra work like cobwebs in high places, all the base boards, shower seams and several other services. When they cleaned my home they didn't do any of the work she told me they would. She told me she realized when she left she hadn't done the right work, but waited until I called to tell me. When they came back the second time to "fix" the problems, they still didn't do they work they were supposed to. She told me that they gave me a lower price so they didn't do that work, even though she said they were going to fix the previous problems. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Two weeks before the date, I scheduled a move-in cleaning for my elderly in-laws.  I was told 2-3 ladies would arrive between 8:30 am and 9:00 am to start.  The cleaners did not show up at the scheduled time. Two hours after the time, I called to find out that they had misplaced my contract and had no one was scheduled to come.  The contact (Denise) said she would call some ladies who occasionally worked for them and send them immediately.  They arrived around noon. The house was completely empty so this should have been an easy job. My elderly father-in-law let them in, signed the contract and gave them my check when they left at 3:00 pm.  When I inspected the work the next day, I found hair all in the bathrooms (behind the toilet, in the sinks and in the bathtub), the cabinets were not wiped out as promised except the bottom ones that were easy to reach, the baseboards had not been wiped as promised, nor had the stove been cleaned as promised (I had to wipe out thick coat of grease and dirt myself).  The bathtub walls were still dirty (the dirt came off when I wiped them with a soft sponge).  Hair was left in the shower stall drain (very obvious).  When I called to report this, Denise said she would have to talk to the owner to see about getting me a partial refund. I never heard from them again. This company is NOT reliable nor honest, in my opinion. I do not recommend using them for even the simplest of jobs.

UPDATE: About a week after I posted this originally, the owner contacted me and offered me partial refund and apologized.  While I appreciated the apology and refund, I still feel that it took too long to get this company to respond.  I am still curious about why they call themselves "Custom House Cleaning" in the yellow pages but are listed as "Custom Janitorial & Restoration" here.  There is definitely something not right about this business.
