My husband heard about eneryg audits at a Sierra Club meeting, and we decided to hire Tim Bryant to do an eneryg audit of our house. Mr. Bryant came to our house to explain what the energy audit would entail and its cost. We signed a contract with him, and he did the energy audit of our house a few days after that.
During the audit he was mindful of being the least disruptive of our living situation as possible. After working several hours on the audit, he left to work with the results. A few days later he returned with a comprehensive, professional-looking presentation of his findings and a list of actions we could do to save energy, the cost of each action, and the impact of each on our energy-usage. He also told us of a program that would reimburse us for part of our costs for the work.
We chose actions that are projected to save us 20% of our past energy costs and contracted with Mr. Bryant to get the work done.
