They installed a Viqua B4 system in 2016 and the technician was very nice and respectful but forgot to run chlorine through the appliances' water lines so I still had coliform bacteria in my system. So they came back out again to do that (and once again sent a very nice technician) but now I learned from the manufacturer (after having a positive test for coliform bacteria) they should've run chlorine through the outside faucet attached to the house as well which could be contaminating the inside water. Also the manufacturer said it should've sat for 4 hours w/the chlorine but they only had it in there for 30 minutes. Also they sold me a 2012 model although it was 2016 which did not include an automated display of bulb life left and alarm to let me know when to change the bulb. Snider said (through the very polite receptionist since he would not call me back to answer my technical questions) if the light is on then the system is working. So according to Mr. Snider I should not have bacteria but I do. Last year I called to have another company replace the bulb because Snider charges triple the price of other plumbers. The bulb has a retail price of $100 but Snider charges $300 plus a $65 dispatch fee because I am 20 minutes away. All you have to do to replace the bulb is lift it out of the sleeve and put in a new one which is not worth $265 for 5 minutes of work (you can see a video on youtube how it is done). Even the manufacturer said that price was ridiculous. Also when I cleaned the inside of the kitchen faucet before taking the water sample recently I noticed a pink film on my cotton swab which could be a biofilm. When you have a biofilm it protects the bacteria from being killed by the chlorine, and in this case a UV light will not help. They did not check for any biofilm when they came out to install the filter. If the biofilm is the problem then I may have wasted my money on a UV light that is not really necessary and not addressing the problem. The house may have sat for a while before I purchased it since it was a rental and this is kind of environment that would cause a biofilm to form.

Excellent,  professional all the way,  starting with Call to the office to make the appointment and then when JW arrived he was very professional, walked thru what was needed, what he would be able to do and the estimate. Work was done quickly,  left the bathroom Cleaner than when he got there and both jobs done exactly as stated.  Really smooth, pleasant and painless experience,  I highly recommend, I would definitely use them again!

The new frost proof pipe he put on busted open the following day because it wasn't glued properly.  So, I had to call them back out.  They wanted me to pay in full another emergency fee to have him come back and fix his lousy work!!  It was their technicians fault for poor craftsmanship and they wanted me to pay again!  I had to argue with the woman on the phone about not paying.  Poor customer service!  Obviously they are more concerned with getting money than fixing their mistakes and putting a good name out their for their company.
So fast forward to this past week of cold temperatures.  The new shut off valve he put on my outside line (which is located in the second floor bathroom under the vanity) busted open last week due to being faulty and not glued properly.  I even made sure the water line was shut off back in October so I wouldn't have another issue of a frozen pipe like last year.  I've now had a flood in my house which has caused damage to 2 bedrooms, the hardwood floors in hallway, the ceiling in kitchen and ceiling in the garage.
I don't know if I was the lucky one and was sent an awful technician last year, but I will never ever use this company again.  Prices were outrageous and the quality of work pathetic.

This is the second house I have used JR Snider.  They did another great job.  I had them replace all the copper pipes inside the house, put in a hot water heater and water treatment system.  The plumbers, JW and Josh, worked tirelessly until the job was complete.  They walked me through everything they were doing, asked me questions to ensure what they did was what I wanted and checked in with me throughout the whole job.  They finished on their estimated time and came is at what they told me the costs would be.  They cleaned up everyday and were so polite.  Everyone there is a real pleasure to work with!

At 2:30 on a Friday afternoon, I accidentally drilled a screw into the copper hot water pipe for our basement bathroom.  After shutting off the water and containing the leak, I looked in the yellow pages for the nearest plumber with a good reputation (we're still new in this area).  J. R. Snider was only 8 miles away and I hoped that they could come out to fix the leak so we wouldn't be without water for too long.  The gal who answered the call was polite and understanding of my "self-inflicted wound".  She said that they would dispatch someone as soon as possible.   Within 30 minutes, the plumber (J. W.) arrived at my house.  He quickly cut out the section with the hole (I now have a souvenir) and replaced it with a copper union.  His work was professional and fast.  He made sure that the leak was fixed and then headed off.  From drilling the hole until it was fixed was only 1 1/2 hours.  I was truly amazed and pleased that it could be fixed so fast on a Friday afternoon ... with no emergency service fee.  I will certainly be using them again as I still have more plumbing chores to do while I finish my basement.

Update:  3 November 2014 --- I had J.W. come back to do the other plumbing work that I needed in the basement.  He needed to move the drain and cold water copper pipe to accommodate the location of the new wet bar.  He was prompt and courteous and quickly handled the task.  He even waited for me to install a section of drywall over the pipes in the wall before installing the valves on the hot and cold supply pipes.  To save me effort when the sink is ready to install, he did not glue the drain pipe.  So now all I have to do is cut the drain pipe to the desired length for the sink install and then glue it into place.  A really good time-saver.  The cost was $231 and I think that was a good value of the work that needed to completed.

Excellent. The technician arrived as scheduled, had all the proper fittings, installed both seats in less than 1 hour and cleaned up the area before leaving.  I would highly recommend.

I had them come out because I had a leak that was coming from my upstairs bathroom to the downstairs bathroom, He came in and but didn’t actually properly diagnose the issues. He said that the water was coming from outside my house. Which wasn’t the case, I had a mold inspector come check and he is the one who told me it was a plumbing issue and I had to call another plumbing company to come out.

We looked at four different plumbing outfits for the replacement of our hot water heater and a few other plumbing tasks. They really impressed me and as a mechanical engineer that usually doesn't happen. Price was competitive, technicians were great, they corrected another problem that my wife asked them about while here, and no complaints from the wife. She said she didn't even notice they were here. Their office was great at coordinating the appointment and everything went like clockwork. We found them from a few neighbors that had large jobs and everyone gave them glowing recommendations! I agree and highly recommend them.

Called JR Snider to get someone to come out. They scheduled someone quickly and they came out. Plumber did not have part so he gave me options and said he could order it and come back or go find one at Home Depot while still on the clock at $125.00 per hour. I elected to have him order and he quoted that the part should be under $60.00 and should only take a few days to come in and he would come back.
Well, I waited for over a week no call from JR Snider. Called was told no part yet and lady said she would call me when it came in. Called next day, no part... Called next day, no part. finally called 1 week 4 days later and magically the part was there although they didn't bother to call me.
Scheduled for him to come back out. The final cost was far more than what was quoted and he did nothing extra. Did alot of standing around doing nothing a 15 minute job ended up taking over an hour plus they charge for travel time to your house as well.
So to change a shower facet pressure value ended up costing $350.00 and having to wait over 2 weeks to get fixed. Will not use them again.

I hired JR Snider because we didn't have any water running in the house and I suspected our pipes might be frozen. It turned out that our water meter was frozen, which our town took care of, but in the process of trying to figure out the problem, The plumbers were very nice, solved our problem and advised us on how to prevent our pipes from freezing in the future.

The service was prompt and professional. Brad arrived in the time slotted for service. He got right to work and explained everything from start to finish. Although a little pricey, you get the service and attention that is priceless. I will be using them again in the future.

It was an emergency and they came out on a Saturday. They were very professional and they got the job done. We haven’t had any problems. They got the job done in about 3 hours. They also hauled the old water heater away, and the cleanup was great. They also called before they came and they made sure that they had everything they needed when they came so they were prepared.

(Excellent. I was worried about calling a plumber as I have been ripped off horribly before and so have tended to do all work myself. However, this was too big an issue for me to tackle and so I took the plunge and called Snider's. Person I talked to was super helpful and arranged a same-day call for later that afternoon. Plumber (Miles) called ahead to let me know he was on his way, and arrived at the time promised. he took a look at the issue, reassured me it was a pretty simple fix and set to work straight away. He was done 30 minutes later - no mess, no leaky pipe. Bill was less than $200 which was great and we had water back on which was even better. Miles also talked me through some water treatment options and tank upgrades which would be of benefit - no hard sell, just sound, professional advice and suggestions which he promised to price and follow up on with me via email. All in all, as good as it gets from every perspective. Definitely recommended for the future.
