PurrPals is a locally-owned and operated company, serving Richmond, VA and the surrounding areas, providing in-home customized cat-sitting services based on our individual client needs. Our primary goal is to ensure your “Fur” Babies receive the best care, love, comfort, and companionship while you are away. Our sitters work with you to identify the personalized services that you and your “Fur” Babies require, along with any required medications – including fluid administration – and special feeding needs. Our sitters are bonded and insured with references available upon request.

Cathy has been a DREAM to work with! You can tell she loves what she does, and when it comes to my two babies, I wanted to make sure they would be taken care of when I was away. She did a FREE initial visit and listened to all the nuances I had about my cats, followed up timely via email about our contract, and the 3 days she came to sit with my 2 cats she followed up with pictures and a recap of how the time went. Talk about piece of mind when you’re away! I even came home to a homemade sign welcoming me home (from the babies lol) I cannot recommend Cathy highly enough and when it comes to trusting someone with your most precious family members, she’s top notch!

We were going out of town and needed someone to take care of our 12 year kitties Zia and Lucy. We usually have a neighbor take care of them , so I was nervous to have someone care for our babies that we didn’t know. Then we met Cathy and felt 100 percent comfortable. Not only did WE feel comfortable, but MY KITTIES loved her as well! She is truly a caring cat person. Cathy did a great job taking care of them in terms of feeding them, cleaning up after them, but just as important she spent time with them - loving and petting them. Cathy sent daily updates with how our kitties were doing and precious pictures of them -each time I read the updates I smiled and knew the kitties were doing great. I would definitely call Cathy again to care for our kitties. She is awesome!

I would highly recommend Purrpals to anyone. We have three cats that all have different personalities and needs and she quickly won them all over. We have a scaredy cat that was completely in love with her at the end of her initial meet and greet. Cathy’s knowledge and obvious care for our cats makes us confident that they’re being looked after properly when we’re away. It’s so nice to know that a fellow cat lover is taking care of our “fur babies”

Cathy has cat sat for me many times and I plan to continue using her service! I have a shy cat named T. Rex. Cathy was patient and gave T. Rex her space, but she earned my cats trust and they are buddies now! The first time I arranged for her to cat sit Cathy arranged a meet and greet free of charge. She came to my house before my trip and let me show her where all of T. Rex’s things were and she of course met T. Rex as well. T. Rex was shy of course, but Cathy came prepared with a little cat nip toy that she gave to my cat! So sweet! T. Rex has now opened up to Cathy and T. Rex play and hangout when Cathy cat sits! This is a big deal for a shy cat like T. Rex. Highly recommend!

Cathy was both professional and caring. We were away for about three weeks, the longest we had been away from our rescue cat, and Cathy not only fed her, she gave her attention and love. She also watered our house plants and brought in our mail and papers. We received daily email updates accompanied by photos, so we felt pampered as well. I would definitely have Cathy sit for us again.

Can’t say enough about Cathy and PurrPals! You can tell how much she loves and understands cats from the first time you meet with her. My cats were comfortable around her in no time. I have one that takes a while to warm up, and on the first feeding she hid under my bed. But Cathy wouldn’t stop trying to make sure she was fed. When she returned on her second trip later that same day, my skittish cat came out and ate all her food. Cathy spent lots of time with them, playing and loving on them. No sitter has ever left their litter box area looking so neat. And the bowls I had portioned out their food in were washed too. She goes above and beyond, as if she were with her own cats! I am so relieved to have found a responsible and caring sitter for my two babies! It takes a load off my mind if I leave town.

great. I wish I had thought of looking for in-home cat sitting before now. Much better than boarding at a kennel. less stress on the pets... AND THEY BRING IN THE MAIL !!!! they also would text when at the house to let you know all was well.

Cathy was very personable and I could tell immediately she was very cat friendly. Cathy met me for a consultation and to meet my cats prior to her first visit. She was professional and very attentive to my cats including one that was recovering from a critical care situation. She made all of me feel at ease and comfortable with leaving my cats in her very capable hands. Cathy sent emails with updates and pictures of the cats after each visit. She was also very professional in every way and added many unexpected touches including bringing cat toys upon her first visit as well as left cards, note pads, and letters with pictures of the cats included after each visit. All of these were greatly appreciated.

Cathy was wonderful! She brought kitty toys for all the kitties to the meet and greet, and was attentive to our complicated list of kitty-care needs. Communication was great! We received emails with photos every time she came to check on the cats, and she came at great times for our kitty crew. All the cats did great with her. She also checked on plants and our pool, and everything looked great when we got home. We will absolutely be asking Cathy to watch our kitty crew the next time we go out of town.

Cathy far surpassed my expectations. I contacted her last minute because I had to travel out-of-state unexpectedly and needed a quick solution for my two cats while I was gone. She was very professional and the whole process was simple and straightforward. She brought toys for my cats, made sure they had food and water everyday and even took the time to take pictures and send me an email every single day, which I totally did not expect but greatly appreciated. When I returned home I was greeted by a nice card and an adorable calendar with pictures of my cats. I already have plans to hire her again next month! It's such a convenient service and she goes above and beyond on every aspect.

It was very easy to work with PurrPals for petsitting. Cathy was so sweet and came to go over our two cats’ routines and even brought them toys! We felt totally comfortable knowing our fur babies were well cared for while we were on our extended vacation. They also helped with house sitting items such as bringing the mail in and cycling lights. I loved getting daily text updates with photos of the cats while we were away. When we returned Cathy had left us some personalized stationary with our cats photos and our cats were just as happy as ever. Thank you!

Cathy and her team are awesome! They pay such close attention and care at every visit. We have two anxious rescues with lots of specific behavioral and food needs. Before ever sitting for our two cats, PurrPals came out to meet Bongo and Gomez and us and discuss everything in detail. Most recently, we had them come for a week while we were away, to feed and play with 3 times each day. We got photos and updates about the cats every day. We thought for sure that Gomez wouldn't come out from his hiding spot all week, buy by day 3 she sent me a photo of them playing together and they were buds for the rest of the week! It was so wonderful to see. Bongo pees on things when he is stressed, but he didn't seem to do that while we were away. We assume that means he wasn't stressed and was getting the attention he needs even though we were gone. When we got home, the cats were casually lounging around, the litter trash was emptied and the cat fountains were full. Their work is thorough and generous and their prices are reasonable. We will definitely be hiring them again for our next trip!

This was the most wonderful experience. I had never left my two cats (15 and 6 years old) for any length of time and was a bit anxious. I needed visit my 90 year old mother in Louisiana for two weeks Cathy came to my house for an interview and introduced herself to the Boys. The 15yr old is very social and the 6 year old not so much. During the two weeks I was gone Cathy updated me on every visit and she even sent pictures. she spent quality time with Bud and even vacuumed him. she even laid on the floor and talked to Little Bud while he was hiding under the bed. Working with Cathy was wonderful and She is the only one I will leave the Boys. Mom was as anxious about them as I was, but when I showed her the emails and pictures from Cathy, she was thrilled and impressed and her mind was put at ease. Thank You Cathy ! See you again soon. Cathy is really great! I was worried because I have never trusted anyone but family to take care of my four cats before. One of my cats has his own room because he tries to kill the others. I immediately felt at ease on the first meet and greet. Cathy took pics of the cats and sent daily text updates. She even fed three aquariums of fish, outdoor ferals and brought in the mail and packages. I will use her services from now on and will highly recommend her.

Cathy was great on the meet & greet. She brought treats for my kitties, but they were too shy. She sent pics and updates every day on her visits with my kitties and as the week went on the kitties were clearly coming out to greet her on visits. Cathy is the “cat whisperer”. She truly loves cats. I was ill for several months and used Cathy’s service 3 times a week to subcutaneously inject my cat (Lucky) with fluids to treat his chronic kidney disease. Lucky quickly took to Cathy. She has a very loving and gentle nature with cats. She would at times surprise me with some special treat or toy for my Lucky. She loved my cat and we cried together when he reached his inevitable end of life. I highly recommend Cathy for care of your cat. She is trustworthy, offers flexible scheduling and is so good with cats.

My husband and I are extremely pleased with the care provided by PurrPals Cat Sitting and Cathy. They are very knowledgeable and flexible which was just what our situation required. All four of our cats received the attention they needed which kept their stress levels to a minimum. As all cat owners know each cat is unique and Cathy quickly recognized the care needed by each of them. She provided updates and pictures on each of her visits which we truly appreciated. They were wonderful! My job requires me to be gone for very long hours a couple months a year. I have a senior cat that did not handle that well. He is very set in routine with cuddle time and waiting 14 hours for his second meal was too long. Two years in a row he stopped eating and became very lethargic. I thought I would lose him. Third year I hired PurrPals to come literally sit with him, hold him, feed him so his meals were spaced a more normal 9 hours apart. I have other cats too and they were all very well taken care of with food, attention, playtime, and love.
