Family owned and operated since 1968. We have 2 retail locations, Ashland and Mechanicsville, for all of your pool and spa needs. We also offer service and renovation on pools and hot tubs. We sell pools, spas, grills, pool/spa chemicals, toys, games and a full line of repair parts, products and accessories from all the major brand names.

I am very disappointed as when we purchased the Bullfrog Hot Tub in 2018, we were very happy with the hot tub and the service provided. Our first issue was when the pump failed and we had to have it replaced in December 2022. I called the Mechanicsville store three times over ten days before we finally received a call from the scheduler which told us the earliest appointment was three weeks out. I received a few text messages too updating me on the status of the part order. The replacement of the pump was completed on 1/4/23. No testing took place and when we refilled the hot tub the next day, it is leaking out of the bottom of the hot tub. I called again, three times, and still am waiting for a call from the scheduler for someone to get back out to repair their work. I have texted the individual, Jacob, who texted me originally, and he will no longer respond to me. It appears that they have a major problem in their service department and they are the only Bullfrog dealer.

This spring we have brought in two new staff members: a service manager and a customer liaison, in an effort to increase our communication with our clients. In July we will also be re-configuring our phone system so that service calls go directly to these new service staff, rather than through our retail store staff. This is the last piece of the puzzle in closing any communication gap. I also want to note that the text messages sent through our company phone number go into a large inbox that is managed by several staff, and we haven’t had the staff coverage to manage it on a regular basis. That is now the responsibility of our customer liaison. It truly is our mission to offer our customers a highly communicative, stress free service experience. I regret that you did not have that experience. We hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you!"

I was totally impressed about everything Only one complaint. New customer. They don’t tell you extra charge to vacuum pool. One would assume if you pay to open that would include a vacuum As a courtesy I would recommend when someone spends that kind of money to put in a system Throw in the pool opening However I was very pleased with the entire process.

It didn't go well. The technician came to my house looked at my spa said he couldn't access it to give a diagnose until I moved it. I got several bills for a diagnose I never received. Finally after 2. Phone calls and a letter to them they stopped sending me a bill. Except for the rude technician asking " do you think you can handle moving a 600 lb spa by myself " and me responding "no" then being told "we can do it but it's going to cost you" I was never given an estimate to have it moved. I had to call a different company who moved the spa and fixed it with no problems.

Talked extensively by phone with Kenny, owner, about problem with leaking drainage valve on sand filter (as well as need to change sand due to failure to clean). He agreed to have crew bring part for specified sand filter and replace, along with sand; but if it continues to leak it could warrant entirely new filter.  The crew, however, could not come for a full week, which was further delayed 3 days by other emergency/extensive pool jobs. When they finally arrived, they did not have correct part for drainage valve replacement but offered to replace entire sand filter for $700+ !
Four days later, when I tried to reschedule for part replacement, they postponed me another week.
Instead, I ordered part on-line ($30) and had another company - Ultimate Pools - come within 2 days and quickly and efficiently replace the drainage valve and sand, for about $200 total.

The workers came at the agreed time and did the job even faster than expected.  They were very courteous, as well.  The owners did not expect final payment until we had a chance to check it out thoroughly.  Highly recommend this company.
