I used Medek in the past to remove a tree killed by lightning and was very pleased with the work and the cost.   I contacted them to remove two large trees from the front yard.   I wanted to discuss this with the person quoting the work and was told I would receive a call to schedule a time, but he called when he was on the way over.  I did get a quote at that point.    I called back afterwards to discuss another item but could not get a call back.    After several VMs I gave up.

The first engagement was fine:  work was done well.  This year it was an entirely different story.  Spoke with them several times; left multiple voice mails.  Was promised a quote on several occasions - did not receive quote.  Was promised return calls on several occasions - no return calls.  Utlimately left a voicemail simply asking for a clear statement regarding whether they intend to do the work or not.  That was about three months ago and have not received a call or voicemail.

Made contact with Medek shortly after Irene.  Some uncertainty about when appraisal could be done; and also uncertainty about when the work could actually be done; but, in both cases, can be understood by the volume of business during September and October. 

All interactions were professional and efficient.  Work was done well; clean up was complete; no unnecessary damage to lawn/yard.  Price was very reasonable and consistent with other quotes. 

Would not hesitate to use again and to recommend.

Mr. Medic came to our house within a couple of days after we called about our need to have a tree cut down.  He gave an estimate and told us to contact "Miss Utility" because we also wanted the stump ground.  I called "Miss Utility" and found that the contractor must make direct contact with that organization; and I let the Medic office know.  The lady answering me, said that she would get to that within the next day or two. When the Medic tree-removal team arrived at our house on 4/26, they had no word from "Miss Utility"; therefore they were able to take down the tree but not ground the stump that day. The three-man tree-removal team brought a truck with a huge crane, a limb-grinder, and a truck to collect their limb-grinder's chips.  The men showed experience and care as they worked together like a ballet, each doing his own task & cooperating to get the work done very efficiently.  Since the tree  was so near the house, I was impressed at how they worked to keep the falling limbs from threatening the house and our plants within several feet of the tree. They left the wood in about  18"-long pieces and cleaned the yard of small branches very well. The stump-grinding was on 5/11/2011, after "Miss Utility" had marked the ground.  That part of the work went fast (about 1 hour) and well.

We got three estimates for the job by three companies that were all licensed and insured. Adam Medek arrived for estimate on time, and gave a price at that time. Told me it would be several weeks to schedule. Day before work he called to inform us and arrived the next morning on time. He and his crew were extremely professional. They now only did all of the work that was contracted for, but left my yard in pristine condition. No left over tree debris of any type. Would highly recommend.

It went excellent. This is the third time in five years I hired these guys. They are very professional, prompt, worked very quickly and did the job in 3-4 hours. Adam came out and gave an estimate, and I had another tree that I thought should come down, but he explained that it should be fine if I took better care of it. He could have taken the other tree down and made more money on the job, but he did not think it was necessary to take down an additional tree. I felt that this was real honest on his part since I had a couple of other quotes from guys that were more than willing to take that extra tree down for $$. The crew of 3 that arrived had very good modern equipment and worked safely. They had to rope a tall oak tree down piece-by-piece since it was close to the house. They were also mindful of not damaging other shrubs and bushes in the area. They then cleaned up everything before they left. I might have been able to have this job done for a few dollars less, but it would not have been done safer, quicker, or with the peace of mind I had knowing that my house and property were in good hands by hiring Medek Tree Service. I HIGHLY recommend these guys. They are the best in the Richmond area in my opinion.

Medek arrived promptly to do an estimate and, when we signed on with them, quickly made arrangements to do the work. They arrived on time. They sent a crew of 5 people with a bucket truck, a large chipper, dump truck, and a stump grinder. The crew was industrious, polite, well-trained and equipped. They went right to work and finished in 4 hours. Overall, truly excellent service. The head of the team (the company owner?) really knows trees and his crew did a professional job in trimming the large trees in the yard. I have a relative in the business, and everything he said a good crew should do, this crew did. I don't know how these things are charged and $850 seemed like a lot of money, but they had a good crew, did a great job, and went above and beyond the contract by removing a tree not identified in the original quote that I found later, and trimmed up another that was overhanging power lines. In retrospect, we sure got a lot of excellent work done for the price.

Excellent. This is the second time in 3 years I hired these guys because of the excellent work they did. They were on time, took care in not harming a shed & other trees that were in the work area, then they cleaned everything up.
