Once again, Gill came and did a wonderful job cleaning my dryer vent. He also takes the dryer apart and cleans everything which will extend the life of the dryer. I can rest assured that I do not have a fire risk AND my clothes dry so much faster! I have a long vent so my job costs a little more.

Gil is very thorough, personable and professional. I've used companies in the past and in 2007 had a bird guard installed on the opening. Well, Gil still found bird's nests and other debris that was packed in. This shows me that the last company didn't do a thorough job. Gil showed the results of each step he took. Now I am certain that my dryer and vent are completely clean. I will recommend his company to friends and will call on him for future needs.

I called Gil Calkins at Cleanvent because my mother had hired a different company to come clean her dryer vent, but after that other company had and quot;cleanedand quot; the vent they told mom that the vent might be disconnected and dangerous, and she should have it inspected. The previous company was unable to provide any information, did not do a good job of cleaning the vent, and left my mother terrified that her townhome would go up in flames.
I contacted Cleanvent on a Friday, and Gil was out to look at the job on Monday (he would have been there the next day, but I was out of town). We shared the story of the previous company, and Gil went to work. The vent was located on the second floor of a townhouse and ran under the floor of the master bedroom to the outside. He inspected the entire vent system carefully, told us what he found and gave us his recommendations. He thought he had a pretty straight forward solution, but also cautioned us that if that plan ran in to any problems, there were alternatives. He was very clear in giving us the best case and worst case senarios. He provided and estimate for the best case and we agreed to get it done.
His scheduler called later that day and set up an appointment for later that week. Gil showed up on time, put down a tarp to keep the area clean, and got to work. Thankfully the best case senario did work. He was able to move the vent about a foot and a half next to where the original vent was located, which provided a straight run to the outside, but he was able to utilize the old exhaust location, so no additional holes in the side of the house. He installed a new state of the art cover on the outside that should keep out birds and wildlife, but let the air flow freely without lint buildup - and it matched the house color nicely.
Gil was a pleasure to work with - a real professional with great knowledge in this very specialized area of expertise. We will have him come out annually to clean and inspect and I will recommend him to anyone who has any concerns about their dryer vent.

Gil did a great job. He is very knowledgeable and thorough. The house is 60 years old and there is very little room in the crawl space under the laundry room floor for any additional pipes, ducts, etc. (probably why the vent for the dryer was in an odd spot about 3 ft from the wall) - but happily Gil found some room and was able to relocate the vent so that it's now next to the wall and not noticeable or in the way. He also upgraded it from soft flexible material to rigid metal (which is safer), cleaned the older portion of the vent which passes through the crawl space, and cleaned all of the lint from the innards of the dryer. Excellent job!

The placement of our vent was unusual and very difficult to access, but the work was done with a good attitude and a good result. We were very satisfied with the outcome.

The appointment was arranged via phone, and the project estimator arrived very punctually for the appointment. He inspected the two job locations, and inspected the attic, to make a recommendation about possible solutions. He was very knowledgeable about the product, and make alternate recommendations on different pricing options regarding the conduit style to use, or the actual anti-bird exhaust vent. He provided a written estimate, after which the work was scheduled. He accessed the property location and performed the work unsupervised. The job was very professionally completed. There was a lot of attention to detail, and the extra attention given to hanging the 4 inch conduit in the attic, suspended with metal banding along the entire 30 feet, with the joints sealed with metal tape. Very well done.

Mr. Calkins called before arriving (a little early) and went straight to work, using dropcloth to maintain clean environment. He was polite and kept a tidy work space. He explained that our old dryer connector was a hazard and offered to replace it with a safer one, but put no pressure to do so. He was here for a little over an hour and explained each thing he had done. The dryer is performing much better due to this service.
