After soliciting bids for painting the exterior of my fifty year old two story home, Jim Barrett was the only person I felt comfortable hiring. He impressed me with his friendliness, knowledge, attention to detail, recommendations, and patience in responding to my questions. His good reputation is well deserved. He and his crew did an excellent job on the prep work, power washing, making sure remnants of ivy that had grown up the sides of the house were completely removed before starting to prime and paint, scraping and sanding as necessary, painting the exterior brick, new Hardy plank siding, trim, shutters and doors, removing and replacing storm windows and glazing and painting the original four over four windows. He replaced three window panes that had small cracks in them and ordered a custom made set of shutters to match existing shutters. Jim and his crew were very professional, arrived timely, cleaned up the site each day, kept me informed of their progress in light of weather related delays, and did exactly what they said they would do. Jim was the only painting contractor I contacted who would guarantee complete removal of the ivy roots and tendrils from the brick before painting. I am happy with the result and have already talked to Jim about doing more painting for me in the future. I would recommend Barrett Painting to my friends.

Barrett Painting was fabulous to work with. After leaving a message regarding services needed, Jim Barrett returned my call and came out to the site to provide a quote. His pricing was very reasonable, and the quality of work was superb. During the job, it was noticed that another door that was painted by a different painter did not have the same finish as the two doors that were being painted by Mr. Barrett. He painted the other door so that it would match - and didn't charge me! My one regret is that I didn't find Mr. Barrett before hiring someone else. It's hard to find someone that does quality work that doesn't price gouge. With Mr. Barrett, you get the full package. I would definitely recommend him and will use him again in the future.

Jim was very professional, friendly, highly experienced and knowledgeable and had helpful suggestions for some of our older walls that had been wallpapered over the years. Jim Barrett didn't start out too well with us. He missed his appointment. He did call me and profusely apologized and we set a new date and time. He was prompt and very personable during our walk through on the second day. His quote came via email the next day. We were impressed with Jim's knowledge and recommendations about our project ( exterior paint job). We then threw a curve ball at Jim and asked him to requote, painting 3 rooms inside and just touch op a few spots on the exterior. He was happy to come and estimate a 2nd time. We hired Barrett and the crew was on time every day, did a great job not disturbing more of our house then needed and even painted our bedroom while we were away so we didn't have to find a new spot to sleep. Overall the job was done professionally and we are very pleased. We would definitely use Barrett painting again.

Mr. Barrett and his crew were very professional. Mr. Barrett listened to and addressed all concerns we had and made sure his crew was aware of them as well. The job took awhile because of the weather conditions this time of year, but Mr. Barrett kept us informed at all times as to when his crew would be there and when to expect weather delays. Mr. Barrett also kept us apprised of additional unexpected difficulties and presented solutions as needed. The crew was always on time, the work was done well, and the crew cleaned up behind themselves each day on the job. We are very pleased with the results. Called up Jim and he was able to visit and give me a quote within a week. There was a delay in starting the project due to all the rain in the fall, but this was to be expected. When it was time to do the work the crew showed up on time each day and even worked on a weekend over Thanksgiving to get the job done. Again the rain slowed down their progress but their quality was top notch.

They came when they said, worked hard the entire three days, and they worked well together - all making the experience better for me. Jim Barrett and his crew were wonderful to work with. Jim even came himself on a Sunday before they were scheduled to begin work and climbed onto the lower roof to put down a tarp because of a leaking ceiling. We had contracted with another company to have chimney work done, but when they climbed on the roof it caused some leakage. It was complicated because then we had to hire a roofer, but the roofer wasn't to arrive until later, so Jim Barrett came by himself and covered the leading area.

Barrett Painting did an exceptional job painting my house. They are true professionals. And the owner is on site every day to check on the quality of work and the satisfaction of the customer. Would definitely hire again.

It went well. They were punctual both for the estimate and the actual job. They are not cheap, but they held to their estimate and the work was quality. And they helped us to determine what paint was right for the job - we have both siding and stucco. The painters were friendly, and professional and they cleaned up at the end of each day and after the job was complete.

Mr. Barrett and company did the exterior of my home and I can't say enough of what a great company to have do the project. They were punctual and communication was excellent. Great group! Showed up when they said, masked all the floor areas, took the time to remove wall crud (bumps, brush marks and drips) from previous painters, and flawlessly covered settling cracks, holes and imperfections. You won't find a better crew! And, the price was very fair compared with 3 other bids.

Great experience. Working with Jim Barrett was a pleasure. I thought I had a good handle on what needed to be done, but when Jim and I walked down the job prior to him providing a proposal, he made other pertinent suggestions for the work that I had missed. No pressure whatsoever; just suggestions based on his experience. After comparing his proposal with others that I received, his was very fair and reasonable, so I awarded him the work. Jim worked well with me to perform the work to meet my schedule requirements. His crew was on time and very cooperative. Jim personally showed up on the job daily to check on the progress and quality of the work. His crew leader, Dave, was also great to work with and kept his crew on top of things. After completion of the work, Jim and I performed a walk through to make sure the job was done to my satisfaction. Very little had to done, just a few cleanup spots and touchup painting in a few areas. Jim personally put the finishing touches on the job in a very timely manner. I am very impressed with the finished product and highly recommend Barrett Painting, Inc.
