EverBank Mortgage

I approached Everbank hoping for a personalized service, since this is a new, small and relatively unknown bank. Talked to Bill at the mortgage department and he seemed very reasonable and knowledgeable. So, I decided to meet with him. I dont mind the fact that he made me wait for close to an hour in another office. Initial meeting went well and he seemed very helpful. I ended up applying for a loan. However, when I got the GFE (good faith estimate), I was surprised to see that their costs for giving the loan huge (including points and such). So, I applied at an another bank. Went through the whole process again where there were not as much costs associated. I let Bill know of this and he was not happy. In fact, he sent a mail to one of my prospective sellers stating that the bank has rescinded the offer of mortgage and seller beware! I think it was totally unprofessional on their part -- even when they knew the reason I did select them was because they could not give me a good price.
