We are quite happy with them. They were recommended to us by someone in the neighborhood. They are small and hard to find. They seem to do good work and they don’t overcharge and we don’t feel like we are getting things added on that are not necessary. The impression is that they are pretty genuine authentic people to do business with.

The overall experience here was quite good. They seemed honest, and did the work without trying to sell me on other repairs. I've only had the car back one day, but the issues seem to be fixed well. When I called them initially, the guy I talked to explained what he thought the problem was just based on my description and he ended up being right -- the brake warning light was coming on because the brake pads were low. I arrived at the shop at 9 am on 23 March 2013 and walked to Starbucks to wait for the phone call with the estimate. He said the call would come in around 20 minutes, but it took an hour (which is the reason I only gave them a "B" for punctuality). He explained what the issue was on the phone and said they could fix it right away in around 2 hours. An hour and a half later I got a call that the car was ready, so I walked back. The pricing seemed reasonable and I am satisfied, and I am much happier going there rather than taking it to the dealer.

They promised that they would finish the job by late afternoon but they actually completed the job by late lunch time. My car seems to run pretty well, so I have only good things to say about their service.

I dropped the car off before they opened in the morning (they open pretty late - 9am). They called me around noon to let me know the approx costs and to get approval to move forward. I picked the car up on my way home that evening. The work was great. Will continue to use them and highly recommend to others.

They did a really good job. Their price was very reasonable. They did only one little thing which I got them to correct. They put too much oil in, I took it back and they took some of it out.

I saw Auto Tech of Tyson's on Angie's list and since they were convenient to my house, I called them for a quote. I already knew what the issue was, after having gone to the dealership a few weeks ago to get my check engine line diagnosed. When I called to get a price for having a sensor replaced, Ralph was very courteous, took my info and called me back a few hours later with a quote for the job, after locating a good price on the part. I made arrangements to drop my car off before they opened on Friday and about an hour after they opened, they called to confirm their estimate. The work was done before noon and came in right where they quoted. Without having to ask, they honored the Angie's list coupon that I had forgotten to mention on the phone but put in the night drop envelope with my keys. They had also replaced a signal light that they discovered was out. The team was professional and courteous every step of the way and at about $200 less than the dealer quoted for the work, I was pleased with the value as well. It's nice to have found a shop I can trust so close to home and I will definitely go back for future auto repairs.

This is easy. This shop is great. We had a somewhat complicated problem and they were up to the challenge. They went well above and beyond, actually. We were informed, the service was great and the price was half of what the dealer wanted to charge us. If you like good service, professional and quality workmanship with a great father/son team, take your car here.

The experience went smoothly from start to finish. I was able to get an appointment within a few days of calling. They evaluated the car from top to bottom then called me with their suggestions for adjustments and repairs. I had them do the work that day, and the car was ready by the end of the day. It has been running great since then, so it was money well spent.

was refereed to Ralph by a friend as being an honest Mechanic .. my SUV had brake problems and took it to dealer, their estimate was $1200 and they wanted to do TONS more work on 60K millage blah..blah.. took it to Ralph .. looked it up and the work was only $400 and he did the 60K blah.. blah work and found nothing and charged me nothing for it .. these days finding people like Ralph is rare .. support him by giving him business otherwise we will all be paying 10x more with these dealers with their special service offerings :-)

I had them diagnose a problem I was having on my car. The problem turned out to be a simple heat sensor issue that they. They did not charge me for this diagnosis. I recommend them for any technical type issue.

This would have been a great time for them to find things wrong with my car and sell me services I don't need. It's an old car, and I probably would have had them do work they recommended. As far as I can tell, they don't operate that way. I think these guys are great, and would recommend them to anybody. I believe they are honest, good at what they do, and I have never felt overcharged. Their prices are really reasonable.

I have been using them for about 30 years. They do the work quickly and when scheduled. They are reasonable priced. They get the work done right the first time.

They treated me very well. I just felt they talked to me more. They talked to me more about the car and answered my questions. They were okay. When I asked a question, I felt that they were being helpful. They were telling me the answer and not treating me like they wanted to get rid of me. They were unlike my other service provider who were very busy and wanted to get rid of me. Even though Auto Tech of Tysons was also busy, I felt that they were willing to answer my questions. They don’t do tires. Even though the next day when I went to get new tires and I had to get it towed back to the place, they fixed it. They apologized profusely about not charging me. It does not happen at any place. Their price was a little expensive. The car is ready when they tell you it is going to be ready.

Shortly after the repair, I started to hear a "clunking" sound coming from the drivers side toward the rear. Initially, I attributed it to the poor road conditions and possible road debris from a bad winter. When it continued, I called Ralph 2 months later and asked that they look at it. They stood by their work and made adjustments to the suspension, charged me NOTHING! It would have been very easy for them to tell me that the car is older and is expected to have some noises. We have used their shop for 20 yrs, never had a bad experience. They are honest, call you with estimate before starting work, and are prompt.

While on a trip (100 miles away), we heard a loud bang and a metal part drop off the car and all the warning lights lit up on the dashboard. I had the car towed to Autotech of Tyson's because they have always been so honest about diagnosing the problem and the quality of their repairs have been excellent. I knew this incident was going to be a big one so I didn't want to risk going to a closer shop and overcharged. As it turned out the belt tensioner snapped off as the car is 11 years old. In addition to repairing this part, I had them isolate a leak in the engine that constantly caused burned oil smell when the oil hit the hot manifold. This repair was also done. It was a rear cam plug o-ring. As always, Ralph provided an accurate and timely estimate. All repairs were made and the car is running fine.
