I had Michael Blevins over to my house. He is not a licensed contractor or bonded. He is going over to Lowes of Martinsville and cards looking for work; and riding around with his name on a van. He quoted me a price of half of what Lowes would do. 130.00 And he could do it in a day. , he charges 15.00 an hour. The first day (wed 5/20/09) Started doing the job and said it was going to take longer than expected. Had to make a trip to Lowes and get a frame which he said he didn?t need to begin with. When he took the old frame out him did damage to the walls, and storm door. Which he laid in my front yard and burned a rectangle shape in my grass from the sun. Left that day said he would call and see if he could come back Friday. The second day (Fri. 5/22/09) he came back and hung the frames which cracked and broke. and when installing the left panel placed a dent in the brand new door. He said that the storm door wouldn?t go back right because it was an old crocked house. also; he had previously painted the door which has a window and got paint on it and said he would clean that up but never did,when asked when he was coming back to fix everything he broke he said "he couldn?t promise me when.""he had to mow his yard and didn?t know when would be back." he also handed me a bunch of stuff he should have put up such as weather stripping, and a door strip. use glue and spackle to fix the frames he had broke. All which should have been done by him since I paid him to do it. He did paint the shutters and hang them also. I had a licensed contracted on (Tuesday 5/26/09)to come and give me a free estimate on fixing what he messed up. And he proceeded to tell me the door was backwards and the guy obliviously did not know what he was doing. I called him on (wed 5/27/09) to tell him i was not happy with it I would like at least half the money back sorry lady, i cant help you. He said there was nothing he could do and i could file a complaint if I wanted to. For me to do whatever I have to do. I have contacted the better business bureau and lowes manager and let him know that is handing out cards HE ALSO HAS DONE A POOR JOB FOR MY GRANDMA AND NAILED NAILS IN HER ROOF TO SIT ON WOOD ON HER ROOF THEN DIDNT SIT UP THERE TO CLEAN HER ROOF. SINCE HE WAS SCARED SINCE HE ISNT LICESNCE OR BONDED.
