Fine on the first day. He was an hour past his start time on the second day. Had to text him to see why. He arrived, worked for perhaps 2 hours, then left. He texted that he would be back next week to finish drywall repair and painting. This was on a Friday afternoon at about 3PM. Sunday about 1 PM he started leaving text that he didn't like being checked on about where he was the previous Friday and wanted payment for eight hours of work at $50 per hour (pre-agreed rate) before doing any more work (not agreed to in advance), wanted to know who our company bank account was with, and repeated similar text throughout the day into the evening, finally stopping at about 7 PM Sunday night. I found out about these text when I came into the office Monday morning and also found out that my shop foreman had to get after him three times on the Thursday that he started for making a huge mess in the downstairs offices where he was working, and cleaning up the work area after he had finished for the day. He must have been on a bender drinking or something to have waited two days after leaving our business on Friday afternoon to wait for two days over a weekend and then suddenly start sending 7 or 8 very rude and insulting texts on Sunday afternoon to Sunday evening - very unprofessional. We decided to not have him return. I paid him for 8 hours at his $50.00 per hour and told him his services were no longer required. Instead of writing the check to the business card name he gave us, with his name listed only as David G. , he insisted that we make the check out to David Goetting, which we did. He picked up the check the next day without incident. We are warning you that this individual is not to be trusted. When we contacted Angi, we received three 5 star selections and selected the one closedst to us in Manassas, VA. That company responded within an hour, came out to our offices later that day, then said they would send "their painter out to look at the job". I have misplace their name and sent you an email to retrieve it if you can, as I am unable to and did not get an email from you with that company's name. At any rate the painter. David G., called us in advance to make sure that his $50 per hour rate was acceptable before he was going to come out to look at the job. We expressed no obgection to that , so he came out the next day and looked the job over and agreed to do the work. He worked on Thursday, Oct. 7th for approx. 6 hours and Friday the 8th for maybe an hour and a half. If you can find the name of the original Handyman contractor you provided to us in Manassas, ( I believe we contacted you the previous week), further details about how this man came to us from them might be forthcoming.
